New Delhi: According to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, 265 DNB post-graduate medical seats have been allocated across 20 district government hospitals in J&K by the Central government, which is headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to Mansukh Mandaviya's tweet, "announcing a new era in Jammu and Kashmir's medical education! In J&K, 20 district government hospitals have received 265 DNB Post-Graduate medical seats from the government of PM @NarendraModi Ji. I'm grateful to Team NBE for completing this outstanding effort."
On the health minister's tweet, PM Modi said, "This is an important endeavour aimed at empowering the youth and improving medical infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir!”
"Local in-service doctors are eligible for 50% of the DNB PG seats. J&K doctors are given the chance to receive medical training there. This was the first stage of the expansion of high-quality medical treatment and education. More PG seats would be allocated in Phase 2 "Mansukh Mandaviya was added.
4 medical seats under Centre quota reserved for J&K terror victims.
Children of J&K terror victims are eligible to apply for four medical seats in government-run colleges across the nation. The reservations are made for the academic year 2022–2023 for the MBBS and BDS programmes.
According to a JKBOPEE notification, one seat at Nalanda Medical College in Patna, Bihar is set aside for children of families who have lost a parent or other immediate family member to terrorism or who have lost an innocent family member as a result of crossfire or other shooting by the armed forces while battling terrorism.
Children of those who are exposed to significant risk as a result of their assignment, which is primarily focused on combating acts of terrorism, have one seat reserved at Government Medical College in Chandigarh. Additional consideration should be given to those who have been added to terrorist organisations' hit lists.
For children of such families, both Muslim and non-Muslim, who have migrated from Kashmir due to the current situation and have lost their means of livelihood, including their business or use of their property, one seat is reserved at Lady Hardinge Medical College in New Delhi, and one seat is reserved at SMS Medical College in Jaipur.
