New Delhi: Centre for Nano and Soft Matter Sciences (CeNS), an Autonomous Institute Under the Government of India is inviting applications for admission to its PhD program as Junior Research Fellows (JRF) for the academic session 2023-24.
As per CeNS, admission for PhD program is open under various areas of research including Energy & Environment, Nanomaterials, Metamaterials, Soft materials/ Liquid crystals and Surfaces/Interfaces among others for eligible candidates.

CeNS PhD Admission Process 2023: Eligibility, Selection Process
Check the detailed eligibility criteria and selection process for admission to CeNS PhD Program 2023 mentioned below:
- Candidates must have an MSc or MTech degree from a recognized University / Institute, in Physics/Chemistry/Materials Science /Nano Science and allied subjects.
- At least 60% aggregate marks for the general category and 55% is required for SC/ST candidates.
- Candidates should have qualified CSIR-UGC NET (JRF only) / GATE or JEST or should be an INSPIRE fellow.
- Students who have appeared for the final year exam and expect to obtain their results before 31 July 2023 may also apply.
- Candidates will be short-listed for an interview based on their performance in the national entrance test(s) and academic performance.
- Short-listed applicants will be called for an interview at CeNS during the first week of June 2023.
- Students will be provided with a fellowship of INR 31,000/- Per Month. (first two years) - INR 35,000 (next three years)
