CBSE Class 10 Science Exam Concluded Today; Check Exam Analysis

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the Class 10 Science examination today, March 4, 2023, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. The students had to report to the exam halls by 10 AM and they were given 15 minutes of reading time.

The students were given a total of 180 minutes or 3 hours, to complete their Science exam. All the students who were appearing for the exam had to carry the CBSE Class 10 Admit Card 2023, without which they weren’t allowed to enter the exam hall.

CBSE 2023 Class 10 Science Paper: Exam Day Instructions 

Following were the exam day instructions that students had to follow while appearing for the CBSE Class 10 Science paper. 

  • Students had to report at the exam center half an hour prior to the commencement of the exam.
  • No student would be allowed to enter the examination hall after the stipulated time. 
  • It is mandatory to carry the admit card along with school ID proof for verification purposes. 
  • Students had to wear school uniforms while sitting for the exam. 
  • Electronics such as mobile phones with GPS, communication devices, electronic items, and others are strictly prohibited inside the exam hall
  • Students are requested to read all the instructions on the CBSE admit card 2023.

According to the CBSE guidelines, all the students will have to refrain from spreading rumors or posting anything on social media platforms including WhatsApp, YouTube, and Twitter.

This year, a total of 38 lakh students are taking CBSE Class 10 board exams. This comprises 16,96,770 Class 12 students and 21,86,940 Class 10 students.

CBSE 2023 Class 10 Science Paper Analysis 

The CBSE Class 10 Science Paper featured a total of 39 questions for 80 marks. All the questions were compulsory. However, internal choices were provided in some questions of all sections except section A.

B Very Short Answer Questions (21-26) 2 marks
C Short Answer Questions (27-33) 3 marks
D Long Answer Questions (34-36) 5 marks
E Case Based Questions (37-39) 4 marks

According to the first reactions of the students, the paper was easy to moderate. The subject experts shared that most questions were direct but a few questions were tricky and there were students who did not complete the paper on time and found it lengthy. However, 3 hours was enough for the students to complete the papers.

The students revealed that the Physics Section of the first set consisted of more difficult questions which were confusing. The difficulty level of the Biology Section was the same throughout the sets. 

As per the Initial feedback, section A of Physics was very easy, and sections B, C, and D had direct questions. Section D was easy, while the Chemistry question paper was direct and didn't have any tricky questions. However, Question number 12 in the Biology section was a bit confusing.
