Dr. Jyothi Basini is working as professor and pharm.D coordinator, Dept. of pharmacology, Seven Hills College of Pharmacy, Tirupati. She has experience of 15 years of teaching and 12 years of research experience. She completed her Ph.D. from JNTU, Hyderabad in the academic year 2015, M.Pharmacy from SPMVV (Women’s University), Tirupati In 2006, and B.Pharmacy from Bapatlacollege of pharmacy, Bapatla in 2003. Till now, She guided 55 B.Pharmacy students (11 projects), 20 M.Pharmacy students, 10 Pharm.D students (2 projects), and one Ph.D. (ongoing) for their research.

What is your philosophy of leadership?

“To emerge as one of the premier pharmacy colleges in the country”

As a HOD My philosophy of leadership is always focused on the Vision of the SHCP College “To emerge as one of the premier pharmacy colleges in the country and produce pharmacy professionals of global standards”. I can describe my leadership style focus on work, always attentive, hard work, work together and encourage others.


What was your vision for the college from the start?

“To focus on the production of pharmacy professionals of global standards”

At the time of my joining in seven hills college of pharmacy, my vision for the college was evolving research in the Department of Pharmacology and Pharm.D, which has a greater scope in the industry and I feel there is a need for the world to evolve in this area.

Yes, it was successfully implemented by 12 months from the date of my joining and I consider it as one of my biggest successes.


How do you strategize about the key plans for the marketing and administration of your College?

“The Key plans are focused on the college’s development”

I can strategize the key programs and plans for the marketing and administration of our College by showing our developments. A shout out of our success histories can reach more hearts than any other strategies and plans because the world needs success and developments


What are some plans that you’re currently designing for students?

“Encouraging Students for journal club and research activities”

I want my students to not only stick to their current programs but also explore all other relevant areas of their study and I am planning to implement a journal club, research activities for Pharm.D students where they can understand and learn about various things happening around the world. And for B.Pharmacy students we are planning for GPAT coaching so that they can enter the best postgraduate institute and get specialized in their interested departments.

What do you see as College’s greatest strengths?

“College always focuses on vision and mission”

The greatest strengths that we have with our institution are, always focussing on the vision and mission of the college, student’s progress improvement, faculty support. Thereby ensuring the development in the industry. We wish to run on toes in the race of evolution in our industry.


How does the curriculum of college ensure the best practice of industry?

“Providing Students with best pharmaceutical industry skills regularly”

The curriculum of SEVEN HILLS COLLEGE OF PHARMACY always allows for flexibility, unique skills, interests, attitudes, appreciations, and learning experiences. There are no predefined practices and developments, every new day begins with a revolution in some of the other fields, so we always believe in a flexible curriculum to ensure the best practice of the industry.


How could your college be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

“Providing Students with wth best cultural and educational diversified programs”

We welcome all the students of different races or economic backgrounds by providing the best platform for student education, and research activities. I feel the best welcoming thing for a student could be the platform and the trust to ensure their transformation into a professional in the industry.


What do you think should be the college’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“To Produce pharmacy professionals of global standards having no deviations”

The college's top priority over the next 10 years is to be the best college, where students are always focused on the era of development and believe the institute provides the best guidance in the industry. We want to ensure our vision and mission towards producing pharmacy professionals of global standards have no deviations, as always.


How do you tend to establish a healthy relationship and environment in your institute?

“Providing Students with interactive doubt and awareness sessions”

Yes, we can provide a healthy relation and environment in our college by awareness on health. We believe health is the most important thing for an individual because one can achieve their goals in life only if one has good physical and mental health. We ensure our maximum support for our students to lead a life with all the good physical and mental health.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“Students should consistently focus on learning new industrial concepts”

I would like to suggest the current youth and the aspiring students study books, study with others, avoid disturbances, use resources, develop knowledge on pharmacy and make yourself best in pharmacy. The best power one can have in the industry is knowledge. It can drive you anywhere you wish to travel.
