“Aptitude and Attitude defines one Altitude”. It is ninety percent of the attitude contributes to success and just ten percent is an aptitude that contributes to being successful. Personality is undoubtedly a culmination of inner and exterior that defines one’s personality.

Ms. Pallavi Kaushik also shared insights on regular body care. Hygiene, personal grooming, and why one must have a fit body and mind is something which she has emphasized upon to have a good personality. Practicing yoga, any sport or a cardiovascular activity or dance or hitting a gym for some time every day also adds to a great personality mind she added.

What you wear and how you carry yourself also leaves an impression on.

Attire must be paid attention to, which we all miss out on, or do not give too much of importance.

Our students are trained on the traits, qualities, habits, skills and behavior apart from technical skills and expertise in the domain of fashion, interior, product or communication. The zeal amongst the students reflects in their day-to-day activities. Here, we nurture each student’s passion to be in the field of design where we train them to be a better personalities every day.

The programs for the development of personality, dressing to make an impact, displaying your confidence, creating an impression, and how to be prompt and humorous are important in the world of design when one aspires to be a technician, a manager, or an entrepreneur.

Change of era in fashion

Dr. D. Y. Patil School Of Design Pune

Date: March 20, 2023

There has been a significant change in the industry of fashion for last twenty years or so. The industry has witnessed a tremendous potential in field of fashion globally and nationally. The biggest impact on the industry is shift from retail to organized retail and further moved to digitalization. This impact has been on the fashion companies and the end users. Due to digitalization, suddenly the world has got closer where a consumer has multiple options in fashion from multiple companies. Fashion buyers earlier had a choice but it was earlier quite a monopolistic market as customization of fashion for the clientele was all done by the fashion designer and now the buyers still have craving for latest fashion trend every week or a month and for lesser cost.

Time-span to deliver has shortened

For a fashion stylist there was a time where the stylist had enough time to explore design possibilities few years ago and now it has been a stressful enough for the designer or the stylist to create a variety and fast moving fashion options possible. Thankfully, in the digital era, there is a lot of data available about the consumers, about the fashion trends, the reviews which gives quick information on the product quality and it’s pricing.

The New Challenges

Though there have been enough challenges in the recent past, there are global industry initiatives for sustainable practices in the complete life cycle. These initiatives set particular standards for importing fabrics, innovation in the design, and materials used for the fashion items. Online shopping has been a platform last few years where consumers have indulged in shopping from various select portals. To mention a few are Myntra, Nyka, Amazon, etc. In the years to come, online platforms will continue to grow in all segments of fashion having their own labels.

User experience

Fashion companies are trying hard to meet the user experience and betterment of product and services to keep the customer engaged that may increase repetitive purchase. The use of Artificial Intelligence, communication technology, the digital marketing and social media has made the market even more competitive amongst the brands into fashion in their own respective domain. To sustain in the market, it is important for each company to deliver the best, creative, trendy and sustainable fashion for the product. As many companies having collaborated with the online shopping companies, there is still some fear amongst the traditional brand companies to lose their market credibility and control over the market. It may happen sooner or later where collaborations will happen between these two. Fashion companies may have to keep redefining the benchmark of quality of the product, service and the final user experience of the customer.

For one to be in the world of fashion may really have to be a braised with world today and anticipate tomorrow. It doesn’t matter whether one makes a career in fashion as a stylist, a designer, a pattern maker, a boutique manager or an entrepreneur; be a part of the stride to keep changing and accepting the new. It is surely not going to be the same every day.

Students at Dr. D. Y. Patil School of Design have been engaged in the learning of changing market trends. The impact of consumer behaviour, economy, social and natural calamities along with the rapidly changing technology dynamics in the fashion industry.

Fundamentally, it is the individual brain that woks behind being an intellectual or being intellectual and creative. The “Left Brain and Right Brain” orientation defines an individual thinking pattern. He also stated the difference between an individual who thinks with the right brain and the left brain. What may happen if an individual is more apt of using left or right brain and also what if an individual may not use any of the sides?

In the workshop on “Design Thinking” hosted at Dr. D. Y. Patil School of Design, one of the renowned institutes offering Design program, Mr. Kapoor elaborated on the process and expected outcome during each phase. Design Thinking is a process that is continuous and used to first understand the users, the challenge that users may face, defining the set of challenges, create and innovate reasonable solutions and test them to understand its implementation and user ability.

In the process of Design Thinking, Mr. Kapoor added, the team of individuals have the freedom to generate tremendous solutions, to dig deep on the problem areas, its cause-effects, and unidentifiable areas too and come with innovative ideas to answer those.
