VGU, Jaipur becomes the first university in North India to have the Swavalamban Chair by SIDBI

Symposium on Innovation Ecosystem for MSMEs and inauguration of Swavalamban Chair by SIDBI was organized on 1 September 2022. The program was inaugurated by Dr. KR Bagaria, Founder of Vivekananda Global University, Dr. Ravindra Kumar Singh (CGM, SIDBI) and Mr. Saurabh Bajpai (DGM, SIDBI) who announced the Swavalamban Chair. 

Vivekananda Global University has been honored by SIDBI for the Swavalamban Chair for the next 3 years. Vivekananda Global University is the first Private University in India to have received this honour. Recently Vivekananda Global University has been listed in the category of fastest growing university with NAAC A+ accreditation in all of Rajasthan. VGU, Jaipur as the Swavalamban Chair will provide knowledge, logistics support and financial support to budding innovators to help them develop products/services from idea to execution. This scheme will give an additional boost to the start-up ecosystem of Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities of the state. With funding from SIDBI, VGU will focus on studying various aspects of developing innovative ecosystem in MSMEs. Will try to solve the problems of MSMEs. Various industry bodies like Fiction, CII, FIGSI, FORHEX, BNI have joined hands with VGU to take care of the issues.VGU is working with various industrial organizations and ministries for the overall development of the region and undertakes various activities like technical consultancy, cluster development, awareness programmes, soft interventions etc. 

The university has signed MOU with FIGSI to develop state-of-the-art skilling and innovation centers in Jaipur and Hosur. Under this, FIGSI will develop these centers at a cost of 50 crores.

Various startups and innovative products developed by the students and faculty of the University were also showcased on the occasion and Er. Omkar Bagaria, CEO, VGU informed that the University has filed 96 patents in the last two years and took the local MSMEs to the global level. The following topics were discussed in three panels during the programme. 

First Round Table Topic - Traditions and Transitions of the Stone Industry Conducted by FIGSI.The participants involved were - Shri Saurabh Vajpayee (Convenor), Shri Ashok Kumar Pandey, Shri DK Chawla, Dr. KR Bagaria, Mr. Ravikant Pareek, Mr. RK Gupta, Mr. Ishwinder Singh, Mr. Harshinder Singh, Mr. Anuj Modi, Manan, Mr. BK Sharma, Mr. Subodh Srivastava, and Mr. Rajesh Jain. In this discussion which is conducted by FIGSI, he explained how the stone industry can be nurtured and what are the challenges. The theme of the second round table was Guiding the Future of the Indian Handicraft Industry by FORHEX. CA Mr. Anil Bafna (Convenor), Dr. Ravindra Kumar Singh, Dr. Rahul Mishra, Mrs. Leela Bordia, Mr. Jaswant S. Miles, Mr. Sunit Jain, Mr. Rajiv Akar, Mr. Brij Ballabh Udaiwal, Mr. Ram Gopal Saini, Mr. Rajesh Dangoria, Mr. Nitin Sharma, Mr. Salaam Mohammad, Mr. Sumit Srivastava, and Mr. Raja Bhandari attended. 

In this discussion related to the new ideas of handicrafts sector was discussed. How can university students help them? What are the new innovations in the field. The role of new age technology was also discussed.

Finally, the topic of the panel discussion was Sone ki Chidiyaan Jagao ACIC powered by VGU. The main participants involved in this were Mr. Ajay Data, Mr. Mahavir Pratap Sharma, Mr. Sushil Sharma, Mr. Omkar Bagaria, Mr. Aditya Nath and Mr. Namit Soni. In the panel discussion, CEO ACIC Foundation and others talked about building unicorns in the country and how VGU can help. It's India time, make in India, build in India and consume in India Dr. Ravindra Kumar, CGM, SIDBI, compared Vivekananda Global University with Vinod Khanna and SIDBI with Kishore Kumar for the song "Ruk Jaana Nahi" and said that we have to work together.

Dr. K. R. Bagaria Taking recourse to the New Education Policy, he said, "Students should be given an environment according to them, in which along with studies, the skills inside them should also be promoted so that they can move forward in their life." 

Dr. Shweta Choudhary (Dean, Code) said, “Students come here to grow and study and teachers also develop here along with the children.” 

Mr. Sushil Sharma in the discussion of the roundtable said, “ it's a matter of "Now or never" and he also said that an entrepreneur should be a "Marwari catalyst. ” he said "Ye entrepreneurship nahi hai asan bas itna samajh lijiye, ek aang ka dariya hai aur doob ke jana hai."


VGU Accredited NAAC A+

Vivekananda Global University has been awarded A+ grading in the results declared by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council of Higher Education. Congratulating the members of the VGU family on the occasion, Dr. K R Bagaria, the founder of the University explained the accreditation process including data verification and peer review.

He also pointed out that the assessment was done on seven broad parameters. The university has secured a good score in all the parameters. VGU is one of the few private universities rated A+ in the country and offers courses in 14 different fields. With this achievement, the university will be able to provide online education with NEP integration in the near future.

The university is collaborating with the world's top 500 universities and offering joint degree programs. With this achievement, the students of the university have become eligible for various scholarship schemes like ICSSR, Government of Bihar etc where NAAC accreditation was mandatory. VGU students will now be able to take admission in top foreign countries where accreditation was a mandatory condition. Students will be able to take up jobs in the Gulf and other countries where accreditation is mandatory.

The Committee appreciated the following features of the University:

State private university with co-education established by the followers of Swami Vivekananda with the aim of imparting quality education. More than 4000 students coming from 28 states and Union Territories and 23 other countries. VGU is the only university with the most professional courses attract people for their infrastructure and affordability. Its development in the National Educational Arena in the last decade is commendable.

The Committee also appreciated the following strengths of the University:

Educational center of more than 4000 students from all over India and abroad. It runs professional colleges like engineering, journalism, allied health sciences like physiotherapy, pharmacy, agriculture, design and architecture which are in demand. The university attracts stakeholders with modern infrastructure and well maintained public relations practices. The campus is kept green. A good number of PhD teachers are accessible and very motivating to the students. The university has done a commendable job during COVID. The foreign students are well taken care of in the hostels. There is a sense of belongingness with the University among all the stakeholders. Alumni are doing well in various fields. Atal Community Innovation Center is a unique center that caters to the needs of the surrounding rural community and innovators.In the end, Dr. Bagaria congratulated the people of Rajasthan for this rare achievement and sought their support in providing world class education and shared the resolution to make VGU a center of excellence in multidisciplinary education in line with the National Education Policy.


CODE VGU Jaipur hold Academic Entrance Interviews

Academic entrance interviews were held for students who appeared for the DeCode exam in April 2021 for B.Des Admissions. The students had an excellent discussion with the design experts about various design streams, they learned about versatile design approaches, experiential learning, and the importance of holistic development of a designer. They got an insight into life at CODE and the exciting opportunities that lie ahead. The students were assessed based on their understanding of the design stream they chose (Fashion & Textile, Interior & product, Graphics & Communication) and their portfolios. We were pleased to see that students from various Indian states demonstrated exceptional creativity and expressed a strong desire to pursue a design career.
