Candidates seeking admission in the institute must fulfill the eligibility criteria for the respective course. Listed below are the steps that need to be followed for admission:
Step 1: Visit the official website of the institute and go to the ‘Admissions’ tab.
Step 2: Click on ‘Apply Online’ and register yourself.

Step 4: Fill the application form and upload a recent passport size photograph and scanned signature.
Step 5: Pay the application fee of INR 600 (General/OBC (Non-Creamy)/GEN-EWS Category) and INR 300 (SC/ST/PWD Category) by Credit/ Debit Card/ Net Banking.
Selection Criteria
Admission to B.Des course is done through a valid score in UCEED/AIST which will be followed by counseling. Candidates who have UCEED scores are exempted from AIST.

The Footwear Design and Development Institute conducts a centralized placement drive at the campus for the students enrolled in various programs. It invites various reputed and multinational companies from Footwear, Leather and Retail Industry for placement drive. International companies like Uniqlo, PUCA Shoes, Apparel Group, Zomato, Blacberry, Dixcy Textiles, H&M visited the campus for recruitments.
A total of 120 major recruiters have visited the campus and 83% of the students have been placed on the institute’s campuses. The placement cell plays a major role in counseling and guiding the students. The cell also organizes pre-placement activities like mock interviews, conferences, expert talks, seminars, etc.

Ans. You can download the admit card from the official website of the institute. Candidates are advised to regularly check the FDDI website for updates. Admit Cards and Results for AIST will be available on the FDDI website only. No separate communication will be sent by post.
Ques. What is the age limit to apply for admission?
Ans. The age limit to apply for admission in the UG program is 25 years.
Ques. Can I choose the city for giving the entrance exam as per my preference?
Ans. Yes, you can choose the city for the entrance exam as per your choice. All the eligible candidates will have to appear for the written entrance examination at the Examination Centres opted by them. The written entrance examination is designed to test the knowledge, skill and aptitude of the candidates for the program opted.
Ques. What are the admission criteria for NRI category candidates?
Ans. 10% of seats are reserved in each program for NRI/ Industry Sponsored candidates who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria. The candidates will get interviewed and the selection shall be done on merit basis.
