CODE VGU

What has been your vision for the growth of this university?

“To enable students and faculty with quality education and best practices of industry”

When I joined VGU, The Faculty of Design was taking its shape where fresh ideas were needed to root into its pedagogy. It was a proud moment to become part of its founding team. We have worked together to form its courses, schemes and syllabus. Now within three years of duration, our students have proved their capacity with excellent knowledge and skill sets. The curriculum of the Faculty of Design is based on industry and real-world context. Our students try to solve real-world problems through dedicated participation in Industry live projects.

How do you plan the marketing and administration of your Department?

“By forming policies that are student-centric and oriented for their better future”

The philosophy at VGU is completely student-centric. Here, the student is at the centre of every academic activity of the University. We do not follow any marketing plans for the University but only believe in providing quality education. The students are the Brand Ambassadors of The VGU.

How does the curriculum of your department ensure the best practice of the industry?

“Live projects that allow students to learn in-depth regarding industry operations”

At CODE VGU, most of the faculties possess professional Industry experience. Also, our curriculum is based on the real-world activities of big corporations. It is proven many times by our students while working on Industry based real projects, that they are learning the best practices of the industry. These projects play a big role in our student’s academic journey.

How does the design program differ from the other professional courses?

“We follow a project-based learning system that ensures holistic learning for our students”

The design program is a professional course like medical and Engineering courses. Here, students get professional experience in their chosen field of the designing domain. They are taught to develop their knowledge, skills and capacity. This helps them to build their career in this vast field.

How does the design program ensure that the students are being prepared for the future?

“The program includes highly demanded subjects and skills in its curriculum”

In the design program, the students have to learn many dynamic skills such as Design development process, drawing and illustration, software skills, manufacturing knowledge and skills, entrepreneurship skills, Design Marketing, etc. These necessary skills help students establish themselves in the relevant professional field.

How do you tend to build an industry connected with this program?

“Motivating our students to participate in industry-oriented projects through consultancy cell”

We invite industry professionals from time to time, to interact with our students. They provide them with the opportunity to work on live projects and internships. We also have a C-Cube consultancy cell that works exclusively for this purpose. Mostly, the students are a part of these projects.

What are the types of projects that the students are working on through this program?

“Designing projects, fashion shows and building sanitizing equipment”

Students work on various Interior designing projects, participate in national level Fashion shows and several industrial projects. At present they are working on mask design and the development of sanitizing equipment to protect from Covid-19.
