Dr. Akshita Duha has completed BPT for AJHIPT, Delhi University, and MPT Cardiopulmonary from CCS University. He has also completed DCPT and is a certified ACLS & BLS Provider from American Heart Association, 2019. He is also certified in Yoga training from Morarji Desai National Institute of yoga, 2017. Currently, He is Director and Trustee at Pahal- Ek Nayi Soch, NGO. He is a former IPD in Incharge & training in charge- Yashoda super specialty hospital. He is a Speaker for Antenatal and postnatal annual rehabilitation workshops conducted by YSSH. Incharge of Gynaecology rehabilitation programs, YSSH.He is a former physiotherapist Delhi Council of Child Welfare. He has a keen interest in cardiopulmonary, gynecology, and pediatrics rehabilitation.

What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

“Providing Students with Quality Education and World-Class Contents”

As a faculty I must understand each student and their problem areas and their areas of improvement. I must make sure that every student of my class is learning and growing their knowledge practically as well as theoretically. I must understand the needs of a student and make my teaching easy and worthwhile according to their understanding. I must take responsibility for their growth as individuals and as professionals.


How do you tend to establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty? 

“Provide students with academic and Career guidance via formal and informal interaction”

By clear and effective communication, understanding, and discussion. By helping those in need and coordinating properly with students and faculty. For students, we must always be open to listening to their problems and solving them with the best knowledge one possesses. 


How do you make the subjects industry-oriented?

“Providing students with industrial visits to gain practical experience”

By involving the students in practicals like a demonstration of equipment, letting them practice on it, brain teaser of practical and realistic situations, letting them be involved with the patients, understanding the pains and condition of a patient, by sending them to regular clinical practice. Also, using models of the organ system, bones, and other models. Making the student feel the perception of electrotherapy, and making them do rehabilitation exercises on their own so that they must themselves know the targeted muscle or area.

What are the best practices of your department that help students in gaining necessary skills?

“Providing students with the real scenarios problem solution with the help of Laboratories”

Physiotherapy lab practical, clinical training, inter-class brain teaser, interaction with patients.

By letting them explore the field, and letting their brain plan out treatment according to the condition, which is then discussed with the teacher.


How do you help your student to cope up with the growing competition?

“Providing students with the practical knowledge of the world by different training”

We try our best to improve the practical knowledge of the child, by training and providing them all the minute details while teaching, letting them grow in clinical aspects also. We focus on increasing the practical aspect of the knowledge of the students. It is done by organizing industrial meets, Online courses and practical training.


How does the college enhance the skills of the faculty according to the industry standards? 

“Providing Faculty with updated Personality development courses and strategies”

By helping them explore new areas and personality development by enhancing their skills. New projects always increase the interest and skills of faculty. We organize the Faculty development programs at the regular interval in our college. We encourage Faculty to pursue the Faculty Development FDP courses present on the various MOOC Platform.


What are the interventions you bring in apart from the curriculum to teach the students? 

“Providing students with regular extracurricular activities and lung strengthening sessions”

Regular quiz competitions are conducted, lung strengthening sessions are conducted for students to be strong to fight from COVID, regular recreational activities are done even in lockdown. Annual day is celebrated every year allowing the child to explore more about their personality. Regular debates or ppt are done for growing one’s confidence.


What do you see as the department’s greatest strengths?

“Industrial-oriented Programs and the best academic team are the real strength”

Practical labs, availability of demonstrating models, and libraries are the main strength of the department. It helps students in gaining practical knowledge. The higher authorities are always there to work enthusiastically for the betterment of students. They act as the best academic team and contribute to the development of the institute.

What advice would you like to the aspiring students for a prosperous career ahead? 

“Keep learning new concepts and work hard consistently”

Follow a path of their interest to be a success, and even if someone has chosen a different career path, then open to heart for a new learning and new experiences. We become successful not by our right choices but by our right hard work.
