Jayant Kadu is an MBA student at IIM Jammu. He converted to the Institute with 75.33%ile in the CAT 2021 Entrance Exam. He graduated from Bharatiya Mahavidyalaya, Amravati with 84.36%. Jayant had no prior work experience. He has shared his MBA Admission story with the Collegedunia Team, read below. 

Collegedunia Team: What was your CAT percentile? Did you avail reservation benefits for IIM Jammu MBA Admission?

Jayant: I secured 75.33%ile in the CAT 2021 Examination. Yes, I did avail the reservation benefits as I am from the OBC Category.

Collegedunia Team: Can you please describe your Pre MBA Academic Performance for Collegedunia readers?

Jayant: Sure, I had scored a decent percentage in 10 boards i.e., 84% and scored 89.69% in 12 boards. Furthermore, I had completed my graduation from Bharatiya Mahavidyalaya, Amravati with 84.36%.

Collegedunia Team: Describe the general setting of WAT / GD (if any).

Jayant: There was no WAT/ GD for admission to IIM Jammu as it was the time of Covid.

Collegedunia Team: Describe the general setting of your personal Interview.

Jayant: The interview was conducted in online mode and for a duration of 15 minutes. The difficulty level was medium. Most of the questions were asked about my UG background and Startups. 

I suggest that the aspirants must brush up with the basics of their UG and prepare introductions well and don't lie in interviews. 

Collegedunia Team: Mention at least 5 questions that were asked in IIM Jammu Interview and how you responded to each of them?

Jayant: The questions asked during the Interview are:

Ques 1. Tell us something about yourself which is not mentioned in your CV?

Ques 2. What are the qualities that a leader brings? What is the difference between a manager and a leader?

Ques 3. Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

Ques 4. Questions from GA and GK such as the Highest Gallantry Award and Highest Civilian Award?

Ques 5. Most of the questions regarding my venture.

Collegedunia Team: Mention any three reasons why you chose this college over other colleges which you converted.

Jayant: The three main reasons were:

1) IIM Jammu has the best location among other colleges. 

2) The average package offered by the Institute is really good.

3) Really great reviews about the Institute from seniors motivated me to choose this college over others.

Collegedunia Team: What was the reason for you not converting other colleges?

Jayant: My CAT percentile was poor which was the reason I didn’t fill out most of the applications and for the remaining applied college, unfortunately I couldn’t qualify for the interview processes.
