“Always learn from the universe as it gives a lot to us without any complains”, Mr. Hemant Sharma suggests the youth

Mr. Hemant is pursuing Ph.D. from IET-DAVV in Mechanical Engineering. He did M.E. (Mechanical) with specialization in IEM from DAVV-IET in year 2013 where he secured 84.5% marks (Honors) with I RANK in DAVV). He has qualified GATE 201, GATE 2012 and GATE 291013 with 89 percentile, 92 percentile and 97 percentile respectively.  He is UGC CBSE NET qualified in Management and did Bachelor’s in Engineering (Mechanical) from S.G.S.I.T.S Indore in the year 1996.

Mr. Hemant’s work experience includes working as the visiting faculty in Prestige Institute of Management & Research, Indore PG Campus; as a visiting faculty in Prestige Institute of Management & Research, Indore UG Campus; as an Assistant Professor in Venkteshwar Institute of Technology, Indore; as an Assistant Professor – Management in Renaissance College of commerce and management, Indore; as an Assistant Professor – Management in Indore Indira School of Career Studies, Indore; and as a Visiting Faculty in Elva College of commerce and management.

Mr. Hemant’s industrial experience includes working in Ambika Engineering Works, Ujjain as Production Engineer; in AVS Insulation Pvt. Ltd. Indore as Senior Engineer (Production); and in IndTools Sales & Services (A division of ITL Industries Ltd.) as G.E.T.

Hemant Sharma’s experience in the education sector

I have worked with many different types of industries like Gear manufacturing, Thermocol sheets manufacturing, Hydraulic hacksaw cutting machine manufacturing, different lathe works etc., and also in domains like production, sales & services, maintenance departments etc. So, truly speaking I loved working in each and every department where and when I got opportunity to work with, but as per my experience I enjoyed working mostly in customised Industrial gear manufacturing rather than automated and standardised automobile gear manufacturing, the reason behind is that there I experience a lot more practical exposure of various fields like calculations as per different work orders, design as per the customer demand and thereafter managing the workpiece and tools on the milling machine and final completion of the work with utmost precision and accuracy. I loved variety rather than monotonous job. But when compared between teaching and industrial career, I would prefer the teaching career to be the best as we get an opportunity to shape the nation by producing excellent and proficient engineers which serve as the backbone of our country in building its future.

Mr. Hemant’s teaching style

As I also had a long career in teaching and almost have a teaching experience in all domains like commerce, science, management and engineering fields, and that was possible because I have owned various degrees like B.E., M.E., M.B.A, GATE and NET. Mathematics and physics were my favourite subjects in school time and therefore mathematics in management, and engineering mechanics in engineering are my favourite subjects to teach. With experience, I developed my own teaching style in which I primarily emphasised on building concepts of the subject for gaining in-depth knowledge and thereby practising to perfection so that one should not make use of any books or notes at the time of teaching; it should flow as music from the heart.

Mr. Hemant on how the industry experience has helped him in his teaching career

As I had gone through different phases in my life experiencing and gaining practical knowledge in various industries that also in many different sections, it helped me to easily correlate the theory with practical. I came in contact with students of various streams and understand their difficulties with the particular subject. Sharing examples like a student of management does not know much about technical aspects of manufacturing in any industry, whereas a student of engineering knows about that very well, but he is lacking in knowledge about management of any industry. So, it becomes easy for me to understand student psychology and his problems, so that I could give him that particular industry knowledge as needed by him, and that’s why industry experience has helped me a lot in my teaching career.

Changes in the education industry noticed by Mr. Hemant

Since last 20 years, the education industry has changed a lot. On one side the number of education institutes has increased which is the demand of increasing population, but on the other hand, the demand for quality education has also been increased due to the upcoming of the latest and future technology. The competition has raised very high nowadays in each and every sector and faculty should be equipped with the latest knowledge as well as tools to integrate with the modern technologies so as to train the students as per the requirement of market conditions for their employability.

Idea of good teaching according to Mr. Hemant

The basic and important most idea of good teaching according to me is that one could become a good teacher only when he has chosen to teach as career by his heart, then only he could work with full dedication and contribute his efforts for the betterment of students, institution and society. One should be a good person before he becomes a good teacher then only he could transfer his moral values to the students along with quality teaching.

Within 7 years of my working in Prestige Institute of Engineering Management and Research, Indore it has become my first family. Because of my diversification in educational degrees as well as experience, I am proud to be the part of almost all the Prestige Institutes whether it is PIMR (UG & PG), PIEMR or Business Analytics course.

Students who are interested to become an entrepreneur should focus and lead his path towards Business management as it is a very fast-growing field, especially with more of the job market turning into freelancing.

Today, the scenario has changed and more people want to create their own businesses and thrive off of themselves, rather than doing a job. Being an entrepreneur is extremely rewarding, but requires a lot of hard work, knowledge, and patience. You will not be responsible for just one single role like any other job you may get working for a company. As a business owner and manager, you pretty much oversee everything from top to bottom. This is why education in Business Management is so important because it provides a good foundation of knowledge needed to succeed as an entrepreneur.

While a business management degree is not required to start your own business, it definitely comes in handy and will make you stand out from the crowd. Without a strong understanding of business principles, your business may crumble or not grow as quickly, especially since it is so competitive these days. Business management students study topics ranging from finance, human resources, marketing, economics, and so much more. They will also have the opportunity to take part in projects involving teamwork, which will give them a glimpse of real-world management. Every business needs a manager. Mr. Hemant’s greatest strength as an instructor and the challenges faced over the years

I always believe in myself whatsoever tough situations I had faced. The other strength that I had built during the course of time is that now I could easily understand the psychology and the problems of students whether they may be theoretical or practical. The greatest challenge that I had faced over the years is to extract the confidence level of the students by identifying their strength and weakness. I focussed on evaluation technique by SWOT analysis method. The student should identify their strength and weakness; thereafter accordingly they would be able to grab the opportunity in the field for job and diminishing his weakness for overcoming the threats.

Goals in mind for the students at Prestige Institute of Engineering, Management and Research, Indore for the next few years

I always emphasise to students on building strong thought process as one can achieve the success physically only before it is first achieved in his mind. As the next few years are very crucial for India and world too because it is assumed to be the changing phase, the students of Department of Mechanical Engineering of Prestige Institute of Engineering, Management and Research should be strong enough in each and every aspect of life to face the upcoming challenges of future. There are so many specializations nowadays in mechanical branch after completion of graduation, in which one can easily build his career.

Suggestions for the current youth and the aspiring students

Always learn from the universe as it gives a lot to us without any complaints. Dream big in life and achieve your highest goal in your life, serve for the nation and give the society with your full calibre as much you could. Never lose hope, forget the bad past, be determined and confident living in present so that you could flourish your future. Always do any work with your full efficiency and proficiency, as hard work has no other alternative for achieving the success.
