Dr Christopher Abraham is the CEO & Head (Dubai Campus), at SP Jain School of Global Management, a Forbes Top 10, Economist & FT Top 100 ranked Business School, with campuses in Dubai, Singapore, Mumbai and Sydney.

He has three Post Graduate qualifications in HRM, Business Administration (Marketing), Labor and Administrative Law and is a Ph.D. in Business Administration (Design Thinking and Innovation). He is a Certified Design Thinker from IDEO Stanford and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (FCIM), UK. He has thirty-four years of experience in management consulting, marketing, and management education in India, Singapore and the UAE. He has been a visiting Professor at many leading universities in Australia, the USA, Canada, Singapore and UK.

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“A passion to help students become the best-educated version of themselves”

People like me, who come from the corporate world to the academic sector, are passionate and dedicated to giving back to society. Especially to the younger generation. Beyond giving back, the raw energy of the academic community is exhilarating enough just by experiencing the enthusiasm of the students.


What is your philosophy of leadership?

“My philosophy comprises of Compassion, Empathy, and Engagement”

I have almost 34 years of experience in the corporate and academic world. The following are some of the ideas I view as central to my management and leadership philosophy; Trust, Empowerment, Compassion, Empathy, and Engagement. I have experienced a remarkable improvement in people's commitment and productivity when I have practised leadership based on these profound principles.

My primary role at the university is to represent the university as the CEO and Brand Ambassador in different forums, government bodies, and other institutions. I also engage in fostering strategic partnerships with entities both academic and others across the world. To students, in addition to sharing knowledge and experience, I am also responsible for provoking their thinking and transforming their lives.

How do you tend to establish a healthy relationship and environment in SP Jain Global?

“Developed new initiatives based on neuroscientific and positive psychology research”

  • From 2010 S P Jain Global started a series of happiness initiatives based on the latest research from Neuroscience and Positive Psychology. 
  • A series of month-wise initiatives are conducted based on different facets and research from the Science of Happiness. 
  • It includes gratitude, forgiveness, empathy, love and compassion, resilience, grit and others.
  • In addition, employees have many opportunities to get together for celebrations, picnics, etc. along with their family members.
  • These initiatives ensure a healthy, happy and positive environment that encourages everyone to give their best.
