What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“The sense of pride and involvement in a student’s career and achievements”

The contribution to the success of every student and the pride with all the recruitments and placements makes the same feeling every time. It feels like an honor to be contributing to the Nation through the sector of education. Many students keep in contact over the years, I get updated on their career & personal milestones. It feels great to know that they realize your contribution to their lives and they appreciate it. I don’t think any other sector provides such perks.

What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

“Respect over every working style with good leadership attitude”

My leadership style is inclusive, with a focus on empowered delegation. I believe to empower all the responsibilities and decisions with a great team perspective. Management of correct attitude is what is required for all-purpose leadership. For that is important to always create a good relation for smooth leadership. I respect different people can have different working styles and that it is important to let them find their strength. I do not believe in breathing down people’s neck

How does the curriculum of your University ensure the best practice of the industry?

“The well-shaped structure of academics and innovative process of everything”

The industry adapts to new practices and technology rapidly. What works today might not work tomorrow. The curriculum is designed to keep the current practices of the industry in mind. We have corporate leaders on our Advisory Board who help us in imparting the delivery of the curriculum in tandem with industry needs. We have faculty members with strong academic and industry background to impart education. The blend of university & AICTE mandated curriculum with the thought-leader discourses by prominent industry leaders makes sure that students are exposed to the theories of management, along with the practical application of those theories.

Any insights into how your university could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

“The college promotes anti-racism and follows unbiased behavior over students”

The college doesn’t promote any kind of differences among students considered by caste, race, and religion. We already have students from most states of India; we have been maintaining this diversity for many years. We have a 40-day Induction Program with many outbound activities including industrial visits, team-building exercises, and adventure sports. These help students to understand one another, their culture, and their differences. Moreover, we celebrate all the festivals together on campus; we also organize many cultural and sports events throughout the year. I think the blend of all has already made us a preferred choice among aspiring management students.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the University and the students are?

“All the roles not only as a corporate head but also as a mentor and a guide”

I am responsible for various mandatory duties towards the college. The collaboration with various corporate for internships and practical knowledge of courses for students. The upskilling and counseling sessions for students regarding their prospects and pathways are also some major roles I need to fulfill as the Head of Corporate relations & placements. When one aims to place the right candidates in the right job positions, one needs to maintain a long term view for ensuring sustainable success for the new job entrants. Their first job will set the trend for future success. My role is much more than just getting the companies to recruit our students, my role is that of a guide, a mentor, and a trainer.

When you first came to the university, what was your vision for the university? Has it evolved, and how far along in implementing that vision is you?

“The vision of the college was always to polish the students and evolvement never stops”

When I joined RIIM, my vision was to shine and polish each student with rigorous training and then provide the best career opportunities to them. We have invested heavily in training the students. We constantly monitor the progress of each student which also reflects in improvement in placement numbers. So we are right on track there. I have personally experienced a lot of changes in the institute and every way we are trying to polish the students for a decade now. I have has a great enhancement in myself as a teacher by collaborating with the institute.

What would you like people to know about your university they may not know?

“Our institute has grown and is still growing to be the foremost in the Nation”

We have the placements at par or better than the institutes who have been in existence for much before us and our placement figures are real and verifiably accurate. Despite a large number of students every year, we have managed to maintain an environment of a close-knit community that engages every student. We see a large number of young management aspirants that come to us from various parts of India. This active focus of student engagement ensures they find a home away from home in the years they spend with us.

What do you see as the College’s greatest strengths?

“Our strengths lie in our unity and healthy relations and atmosphere”

That we are a very human-centric institute. Our Chairman Prof. Suraj Sharma leads with heart and the same reflects in every person working here. You will find some of the most committed people working towards building this institute. Apart from that, we have a very immersive Induction program that forms a strong foundation, Management Development Program at IIMs, certifications, and capsules for upskilling – it’s hard to pick up only one!

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“Aspirations and passion work the best with your hard work and dedication”

The only suggestion I would want students to take from me is that your aspirations must be backed by efforts and hard work. Don’t get carried away by technology, it is a part of life; do not make it your life. There is no substitute for reading. The world is a very competitive place but if you put your heart, you can achieve anything. The focus should always be maintained with full dedication.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see, both for higher education in general and for XYZ University specifically?

“The changed way of learning due to the global pandemic”

The current pandemic has changed the way education is imparted. Never before the education was so driven by technology, this has become the greatest challenge. We need to find new ways to connect with people who are on the other side of the screen. The ones who adapt well and faster will have an edge over others. It’s time to unlearn and relearn. The Covid pandemic has made it a greatly difficult deal to associate well with all the facts and learning over an online portal. The students as we concern are facing a lot of issues for the same.
