What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“Opportunity to nurture the lives of future professionals and simultaneously learn from younger generation”

I have been associated with this field for the last 18 years. I have found that this is the liveliest sector where I could make a perfect blend of passion and profession. Additionally, I enjoy the opportunity of reverse learning from the young minds.

How do you tend to establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?

“I listen to their problems, and also maintain a friendly relationship”

I consider my workplace as my second home. Hence, building healthy relationship with the students and the fellow faculty makes my job enjoyable. To craft a good relationship with the students, I always encourage them to explore new things. When students will feel supported, they will get the confidence to share their innovative thoughts. Finally it will provide them with the momentum for 360-degree development. Maintaining good relationship with your fellow mates is also essential. I believe if you have respect for one other, then automatically a healthy relationship will be sustained.

How do you help your students to thrive in the current competitive academic scenario?

As teachers, our role is to ignite the love of learning into the minds of learners”

The first and foremost thing is to develop an interest in learning. Nowadays people are realising the importance of professional education and preferring the same instead of the conventional one. To meet this need we keep on revamping our curriculum as per industry demand. To make our students ready for the industry we organize training sessions, guest lectures, and seminars/conferences with industry experts. Moreover, to strengthen the industry-academia linkage, we form knowledge partnerships with different organizations.

What are the challenges that you faced while uplifting the quality of education in your department?

“Building a curriculum that aligns with every student capacity is a challenging factor”

The learning aptitude of the students is heterogeneous; the level of comprehension is not identical for all. Our motto is Inclusive Learning. Hence, developing variations in the delivery system is sometimes extremely challenging.

What are some of the biggest challenges for higher education?

“Mushrooming of numerous educational institutes affecting overall quality of education”

In these days, the number of institutions and number of enrolments under higher education is observing remarkable intensification. However, if we check the same concerning access to quality education it is lagging. For our college, due to time constraints in each semester/course sometimes it becomes very difficult to balance the diverse needs of the students, the University, and the industry.
