GITAM Hyderabad unveils Kaloji’s Statue

17^th September 2018, Hyderabad: The famous poet, Praja Kavi Kaloji Narayana Rao’s statue unveiled by renowned Novelist Ampasayya Naveen at GITAM Deemed to be University, Hyderabad on September 17, 2018. GITAM, Hyderabad Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. N. Siva Prasad, Resident Director DVVSR Varma, and others garlanded Kaloji’s statue and paid floral tributes.

Ampasayya Naveen said poet Kaloji Narayana Rao had brought recognition to Telangana language and culture through his poetry. He wrote poetry in the language spoken by the common man and had created an awakening among the masses in Telangana. He recalled the good old memories with Sri Kaloji. He launched an in-house newspaper and blog developed by PR & Media Cell of GITAM Hyderabad.

Prof. N.Siva Prasad described the late poet as a ‘person who longed for the well-being of society throughout his life’. P. Ashok, Manager, Telugu Vernacular Daily said that eminent poet and Telangana ideologue Kaloji Narayana Rao strived for the promotion of Telangana language through his writing and poetry.

DVVSR Varma, GITAM Resident Director, Prof. Y. Lakshman Kumar, Dean & Director, GHBS, Prof. Ch.Sanjay, Principal, School of Technology, Prof. G.A.Rama Rao, Principal, School of Science, Prof. G.S.
