A lecture on ‘Chemistry, A Knowledge-Driven Career’ by Dimple P. Dutta at GITAM, Hyderabad

Hyderabad, August 27, 2018: “As well as gaining knowledge in traditional fields of chemistry (organic, inorganic, physical and analytical), a chemistry degree includes modules in chemical biology and biochemistry giving an excellent balance of scientific knowledge, both specialist and general. More fundamentally, it develops the ability to solve problems, to think critically, and to communicate their ideas. These are transferable skills that will make you attractive to any potential employer” said Dimple P. Dutta, Chemistry Division, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai. She delivered a guest lecture on ‘Career Prospects in Chemistry’ at School of Science, GITAM Deemed to be University, Hyderabad on August 27, 2018.

“Chemistry graduates can enter a wide variety of fields, where their skills are valued both in business and in the public sector. The chemical and pharmaceutical industries are popular destinations for Chemistry graduates. A number of chemistry graduates each year decide to go on to study further in an area of particular interest” Dimple Dutta added.

Earlier, Prof. G.A.Rama Rao, Principal, School of Science felicitated Dimple and Prof. Rambabu Gundla proposed the vote of thanks. Prof. R.Balaji Rao, HoD, Physics Department, Faculty and B.Sc. students took part on this occasion.
