What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“Education sector is the source of talent for every sphere of our economy”

Shaping the youth for the future is the biggest satisfaction. Engaging with them, sharing knowledge and experiences with them, and learning new methods and technology from youngsters are very satisfying. We are living in a highly dynamic and disruptive world, and it is the youth who are at the center of all the development. Being with them and collaborating learning together develops me and helps me remain relevant in a fast-paced teaching-learning environment.

What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

“Inclusive leadership for eminent decision making and betterment of the institute”

I believe the consultative process improves the quality of decisions, as the number of alternatives generated and vetted, help in choosing the best alternatives. Further, hearing your subordinates and making them part of the decision-making process, empowers and motivates them to give their best. I also believe that, motivation and positivism, encourages people to achieve extraordinary results, and therefore instead of being critical of the subordinates and juniors, leaders should be more encouraging and supporting. Further, I believe, what is measured is managed well, and therefore it is important that we measure performances objectively and ensure we remain focused on our tasks and goals.

The education systems in India and other foreign countries are structured very differently. In your experience, what can an inbound student gain from studying here in your institute?

“The practical knowledge with assessment and training” bridges the gap in Indian and International institutes

The institute emphasis is making learners the center of all the academic planning and execution, which helps in achieving a rich and vibrant learning environment. The institute believes that learning must be action-based, experiential, practical, and the choice of teaching, methodology, tools, and techniques should all be designed keeping the learner's interest in mind. The majority of learning is planned out of the classrooms, using cases, outbound activities, and simulations. Hence, students find a diverse and rich environment, engagement and exposure both from academia and Industry.

How does the curriculum of the college ensure the best practice of the industry?

“The practical knowledge with training to make students industry-ready”

The curriculum of Vishwa Vishwani is dynamic in nature. The Academic Board reviews the course curriculum every year, keeping the latest development, industry trends, and research findings in mind. The curriculum is updated, new courses are added and new electives are offered to students to prepare the industry ready graduates who are able to demonstrate the skills needed in the industry. The institute has organized its function taking a cue from the corporate organization. All activities, programs, and plans are owned, designed, and executed by students making them learn as they do. Failing is allowed as students are put to the management laboratory where they conduct their learning experiments and graduate as industry-ready professionals.

Any insights into how your Institute could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

“The college supports no discrimination among students and believes in unity in the students”

Vishwa Vishwani provides a diverse learning environment. Students come from more than 18 states in India. Different economic backgrounds, religions, and cultures are a shade of Vishwa Vishwani Canvas. The cultural committee at campus celebrates all the festivals and organizes various cultural activities to make the campus more inclusive and welcoming for students from all the region, religion, culture, and economic background. Institute believes that diversity is the strength of India and the Idea of India as a great nation lies in its plurality and inclusivity. Institute also provides a scholarship for economically poor students to facilitate them move ahead in life and achieve their dream.

What do you think should be the Institute top priority over the next 10 years?

“The coping capacity with recent trends that needs to be followed up for a long time now”

  • To keep pace with changes in the environment and technological landscape.
  • The disruption is a new reality and the institute must align itself to address this disruption with a template that can accommodate these changes and strategize in real-time.
  • Institute will have to develop a flexible and agile system to respond to such changes and remain relevant at all times.
  • Covid-19 was a disruption that tested the bandwidth of the institute, and our seamless migration to online operation; be it academic, examination, or placements have given the required confidence to all of us.

What do you see as your institute’s greatest strengths?

“Management and academic leadership are the greatest strengths of the institute”

The greatest strength of Vishwa Vishwani is its management and academic leadership. While management feels that we are in the business of shaping life the academic leadership believes that they are crafting leaders for tomorrow. The interest shown by the recruiters in visiting our campus for campus hiring is a testament to our core strength. The institute believes in giving the best to the students, be it subscribing Cases from IIMA to Business Simulation Games from various vendors to training them on language and aptitude from the best of the trainers. How do you tend to establish a healthy relation and environment in your institute?

“Open communication and involvement with all the faculty members for any issue in the institute”

Engagement is the key to building a healthy environment. Be it faculties, staff, or students, all need to engage, focus, and contribute to making teaching, learning enjoyable on the campus. Various activities, academic programs, management and cultural fests, conferences, and seminars provide opportunities for all to work as a team and become a unit with clear objectives to achieve.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“You need to be ahead to remain relevant, vibrant, and excellent”

There are many suggestions to youth but I would focus on mainly three areas.

  • Today’s youth have what it requires to succeed, be it resources, opportunity, and support systems, and therefore performing is their job and hence they must set their goals and be focused to achieve the same.
  • Remember, it is all about time and expertise. Take time in career-related decisions. Being impulsive and short-sighted will be dangerous. Take time to decide, give time to learning, and then go on to practice what you learned.
  • Be lifelong learners and spend at least 10 percent of your earnings on learning if you want to have a long career life cycle. Today technology is changing and so are the job profiles. Constant update is critical for going far and high in career.
