Elective Course on Public Health Nutrition

IIHMR Bangalore in collaboration with IIHMR University, Jaipur efficaciously conducted 10 days Elective Course on Public Health Nutrition (3 credit points) recently. The program was initiated with the welcome address by Dr. Usha Manjunath, Director, IIHMR Bangalore. Around 200 participants from nutrition and non-nutrition areas including medical doctors, public health professionals, MPH students, AYUSH professionals, academicians, program managers, health management students and research scholars, attended the course.

The key speakers for the course were from prestigious institutes such as NIPCCD, University of Rajasthan, PHFI, FSSAI and IIHMR Bangalore. The Director, IIHMR Bangalore also delivered sessions. During the course, the key speakers delivered sessions on the significance of Public Health Nutrition in India, major nutritional problems, strategies to tackle them, food and nutrition security and food labelling & standards. Participants enthusiastically performed activities organized during the course like Jingle radio, Facebook post, Posters etc. On the last day of the program, Dr. SD Gupta, Chairman, IIHMR University addressed participants focusing on emerging issues of Triple burden of malnutrition and scope of Public Health Nutrition in India. With the vote of thanks delivered by the Director, IIHMR Bangalore, the 10 days program was successfully completed.  


IIHMR Bangalore celebrated World Health Day drawing aspects of Health in its premises

On World health day, Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR) Bangalore took the opportunity to draw attention to the important aspects of health. The day was marked by the students’ activities reflecting the World Health Day 2021 theme “Building a fairer, healthier world for everyone” Oomph and enthusiasm was all over the students actively showing their talent and creativity in posters presentations, short films along with blog articles centred around the themes of Universal Health Coverage, Health Inequity, Better Health and Well-being, Climate Change and Human Health and Access to Quality Health Services.

The importance of addressing the health issues and creating awareness about the importance of staying healthy was stressed by Dr. Usha Manjunath, Director, IIHMR Bangalore while interacting with the students.  She also talked about the significance of celebrating the World Health Day, adverse effect of COVID pandemic in achieving the targets of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), role of health managers in building fairer and healthier society, identify the root causes of health inequities by using evidence and data driven policy making through collaboration.


Inauguration of Seminar Hall at IIHMR Bangalore

The Seminar Hall was inaugurated by Dr. V. M. Katoch, NASI-ICMR Chair on Public Health Research, Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS). He appreciated and praised the multi-focused development initiatives of IIHMR Bangalore. Dr. SD Gupta, Trustee Secretary, IIHMR Society was the chief patron of the function. He congratulated the IIHMR Bangalore team for their continuous efforts on upgradation.IIHMR Group members, students, academic and research partners, and other various distinguished delegates joined the function.


HxCentral to set up a Centre of Excellence to train IIHMR students

Ltd, further strengthening the relationship. This association is aimed to bridge the industry-academia gap and strengthen the exchange and collaboration of best practices in digital health management and skill development. 

HxCentral, is a cloud-based Healthcare Experience solution implemented in over 120 hospitals across India, South Asia, and the Middle East, assisting hospitals dramatically transformation by enhancing patient safety, improving efficiency and earning patient loyalty while enriching patient experience.

Under the MoU, the centre for Learning and Development at IIHMR, Bangalore and Hx Central will jointly collaborate for upskilling the healthcare industry professionals on various aspects of digital health and improving quality of care in hospitals.
