What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“Inspiration, motivation, transformation and creation”

I am a person who thrives on intrinsic motivation to touch, impact, inspire and create visible and tangible differences in people’s lives through the transformative and ennobling power of education. I am an extremely passionate and purpose – driven academician who have been relentlessly working in the education sector, and nurturing the creative and innovative genius and the unique talents and capabilities in our young learners.

How would you describe your leadership style?

“Empowering new leaders and creating possibilities”

I strongly believe that a true leader is one who knows the way, shows the way and most importantly, goes the way. A leader takes people where they want to go but a great leader takes people where they don’t want to go but ought to be. The real role of leadership in education is to create a suitable climate of infinite possibilities and immense potentialities where the people would continue to evolve into the highest, truest and the very best versions of them.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities towards the students are?

“Constant development and learning to build a better future for all”

My primary responsibility as an educationist is to help enable the young learners to evolve into more confident, competent, dynamic and authentic versions of themselves leading this nation and world. I ensure my students should be holistically equipped to address the constantly emerging global complexities of the 21st century. We aim to create an environment for students that will not just equip them with the right kind of knowledge, but also develop them as well-rounded members of society. We instils the notion of lifelong learning through a vibrant culture of research and innovation, collaboration with industries, research centres and professional bodies to stay relevant and up-to-date, and inculcate ethical principles and develops understanding of environmental and social realities among the young learners.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see for higher education?

“Addressing the changes of emerging global complexities and relevant attributes”

There is an urgent and pressing need to re-imagine and redefine higher education to suit the needs and demands of an ever-changing and constantly unfolding volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous world. We do not need mechanically trained minds loaded with facts and figures, systematically formulated to think alike or mere by-products of the industrial factory model of productivity, rather the minds which are capable of divergent thinking and out-of-the box ideation. We need to allow the young learners to utilize their time and energy effectively in following their curiosity, creating, sharing, exploring and experimenting with their novel and unique ideas. We also must allow the creative minds to not only seek innovative solutions to the problems but also to look out for inherent problems in existing solutions.

Your purpose will eventually act as a strong magnet to pull people towards your vision. Your purpose will ultimately decide your destination.
