Admission Story: Abhinav Singh, FMS (BHU), CAT, 76.78%ile

Abhinav Singh is a MBA-IB student at FMS (BHU). He obtained a seat at FMS, BHU with a CAT percentile of 76.78%. He has completed his graduation from Shri Jai Narain PG College (KKC) Lucknow with 70.86%. Abhinav has shared his MBA Admission story with the Collegedunia Team, read below. 

Collegedunia Team: What was your CAT percentile? Did you avail reservation benefits for MBA Admission?

Abhinav: I secured 76.78%ile in the CAT 2021 Examination. There weren't any reservation benefits, as I am from the General Category.

Collegedunia Team: Can you please describe your Pre MBA Academic Performance for Collegedunia readers?

Abhinav:  In 10 board exams I scored 80.50%. I secured 69.80% in the 12 board exam. Also I graduated from Shri Jai Narain PG College (KKC) Lucknow with a 70.86%.

Collegedunia Team: Describe the general setting of WAT / GD (if any).

Abhinav: In my case, GD/WAT was not conducted due to covid during that time. 

Collegedunia Team: Describe the general setting of your personal Interview.

Abhinav: FMS Personal Interview Experience:

There were 5 members in a panel; they all were the faculty of the institute. The interview mode was online and the interview duration of 20 minutes approx. The panellist asked normal questions. And, the panel was very polite and supportive.

Collegedunia Team: Mention at least 5 questions that were asked in FMS BHU Interview and how you responded to each of them?

Abhinav: The questions asked during the Interview are:

Ques1. Tell me About yourself? 

Ans. I gave a detailed introduction which I had already prepared.

Ques2. Why MBA ?

Ans. As I studied Commerce as a subject in my 10th class, I developed a keen interest in commerce subject which helped me to choose Commerce stream in my 12th. After 12th, I decided to pursue B.com because my inclination grew and especially towards the Banking sector. There I found that my passion lies in this field. I believe that a person can succeed in life only by pursuing his interests. This is the biggest reason I want to pursue MBA and make my career in this field and see myself in a leading position at a reputed bank after a few years.

Abhinav: The major reasons why I choose this college are÷

Collegedunia Team: What was the reason for you not converting other colleges?

Abhinav: I did not score good percentile in my CAT exam. This was the main reason why I was not able to convert to any other better colleges.
