What is the latest program offered in Vels University to help students outperform and stand apart from the crowd?
“Electronics and Communication Engineering course covers designing, developing and manufacturing electronic equipment”
B.E Electronics and Communication was introduced in the year 2008. Electronics and Communication Engineering involves designing, developing and manufacturing electronic equipment (for devices and circuits) as well as communication systems. The degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering enables you with a clear understanding of analog transmission, basic electronics, microprocessors, solid-state devices, digital analog communication, satellite communication, Integrated circuits, antennae wave progression and microwave engineering, IOT etc. This is a thriving domain with a myriad of opportunities in store for students. With the increasing digitization, the realm of ECE is also evolving. Hence, a huge spectrum of opportunities is available in the field. B.Tech Electronics and Computer Science was introduced by the department of ECE in the year 2022. Electronic, as well as computer engineers are in great demand in industries across the globe. Joint applications such as, mobile phones, space shuttles, desktops, tablets, etc are few of the examples. The increased use of these technologies in all aspects of our lives ensures continued relevance and its expansion in the future. The Electronics and Computer Engineering undergraduate program is a course which aims to integrate these two separate engineering fields to meet the joint demands made by the electronic and computer industries in today’s world. This program blends various courses of both fields over the period of four years with an emphasis on the career in computing systems.
What are the factors that make this program the best for the students to opt?
“Career across multiple domains and industries is the best asset of programs in our campus”
The Electronics Industry spans from Mobiles, Computers, Sensors, IoT, Artificial Intelligence, Telecom, consumer electronics, Software Industry, Mobile Communication, IT Industry, Automation, Robotics, Power Electronics, Healthcare Equipment Manufacturing, Automobiles etc. Both the Programmes B.E Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and B. Tech Electronics and Computer Engineering run by the department enables students to understand basics and the state of the art technologies. Students not only learn the basics of electronics, but will also learn to program the electronics. They deal with the advantages and limitations of the hardware when deploying the various IoT or AI algorithms into the hardware. As many industries transit towards modernization, it will be beneficial for upcoming engineers to know both the hardware and software. This makes both B.E Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and B. Tech Electronics and Computer Engineering, best for upcoming engineers. By knowing electronics and its nuances, they are free to choose their career across multiple domains and industries.
What will you say are the best practices in the course you’re offering?
“Internships, industrial visits, mini projects and elective courses are available to pupils”
