What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

“Evolving and transformational leadership is my pathway for better decorum to be followed”

I would like to describe my leadership as Transformational leadership where the Director-CRC along with team CRC work with all stakeholders including student placement representatives to identify needed change every year, creating a vision to guide the change through inspiration, and executing the change in tandem with committed members of a large group. I am thankful to the top management and leadership team of Amity University Jaipur, Rajasthan for having trust in me.

How do you strategize about the key programs and plans for your center?

“Working from the very start of academia to shape every student’s career prominently”

We are a team of committed professionals at CRC. We just don’t run for the final placements. The strategy includes- long term orientation (LTO), as we focus on the involvement of first-year students by identifying their right aptitude. We nurture them through 3 tier mentoring, training & coaching is done through guest lectures by stalwarts of the industry followed by skill gap analysis. Internship & SIP are provided based on their passion and interest. By the time they reach the final semester they have enriched experience of handling pressure and they start enjoying the CRC activities.

How does your center ensure the best practice of the industry?

“Prepare students for being industry-ready with several activities and training”

A “one-stop solution” for all students; where aptitude and specialization are measured through psychometric testing, followed by one-on-one counseling. The internship & SIP are offered based on their passion and aptitude. We also provide mentoring by industry experts and alumni of the institute.

What do you think are your roles and responsibilities to the University and the students?

“Position comes with various responsibilities to follow in the head of a role considered”

The role of a Director is beyond the responsibilities. The expectations may vary from department to department; as the nature & scope of courses are different. My role is to provide a good career for students; not just placing them and to take feedback from employers; so that accordingly we can prepare our students. My role also includes interacting and involving Alumni, our extended family members, who are our backbone. We keep a track of all the students after they graduate and work for them whenever they need support from CRC.

What do you think should be the University’s top priority over the next few years?

“To be the foremost institute in the Nation on every segment of the institute”

  • To strengthen our students with the right functional & generic competencies and attitude besides domain knowledge.
  • To align the UG courses’ syllabus, pedagogy, and developing aptitude & attitude of students with New Education Policy.
  • To establish and strengthen our Alumni centers across the country and abroad.
  • To ensure maximum pre-placement offers during the internship.

When you first came to Amity, what was your vision for your center? What changes do you see now?

“Evolution is a way to success and keeping the institute above in the reputation for academics”

Over some time, under the guidance of Vice-Chancellor and Pro-Vice-Chancellor, tried my level best to understand the need of the departments and felt the pulse of students which changed my mindset that CRC shall be a “one-stop solution”, not just the placement center. We focused on a career-oriented approach where we do profile mapping of every candidate, analysis them, give feedback, approach organizations and corporate based on career mapping, and secure the future of students by providing the right fit.

What would you like people to know about your center that they may not know?

“Offering the best placements for every student to provide them with settled future”

We are a strategic business unit where every team member including Student placement representatives acts as a leader and works, decide the Head of the unit. We do not just provide jobs, we built a career. It’s a philosophy; it’s an approach, where students from the first semester/ day one are involved. Will & Skill mapping to various psychometric testing are done. Further, they are analyzed and “GAPS” are bridged.

What do you see as Amity’s greatest strengths?

“Teamwork and faculty management with experienced professionals”

  • The trust of the Leadership team in each employee is the biggest strength of Amity University.
  • The passion and philosophy of our Chancellor Dr. Aseem Chauhan Why Amitians will change the world give us the strength to work in a team.
  • Our highly competent faculty members, identifying the right talent for the right company, frequent feedback from employers and
  • Industry partner’s support of our esteemed alumni is our strength.

What are some of the biggest challenges you have faced working in the Corporate Resource Center? How did you overcome them?

“The growing competition and expectations over every department of educational World”

The biggest challenge was the varied expectations of different departments. There are hundreds of super specializations to be catered to. It was not an easy task to identify the “GAPs”. Grateful to all Directors/HoD, who provided me their time. I patiently listened, analyzed& understood based on the interaction with all HoDs, corporate stalwarts, and alumni. I also took the support of a few psychologists to understand the outcomes of the psychometric tests, which were beneficial for students.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“Passion leads to success and completion of goals”

Follow your passion, turn it into a dream, and introduce it to the light of reality. Youth must go with their passion and interest. They should opt for a college or university, where their talent may be nurtured. They should look for their Career, not just a Job.
