Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU) was established under the name of Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University (APAU) on the 12th of June 1964 through the APAU Act 1963. ANGRAU is governed by a 21 members Board of Management with the Vice-Chancellor as Chairman. ANGRAU at present has five Agricultural Colleges under Agriculture Faculty, two Colleges of Agricultural Engineering and two colleges of Food Science and Technology under Agril. Engineering and Technology faculty and one College of Home Science under Home Science faculty.

ANGRAU provides admission to various UG, PG and Doctorate courses. The exam for these courses is conducted in a semester pattern. The result is declared on the university website. Admission to various courses is based on basis of the entrance exam. A duly filled admission form is to be sent through registered mail.

The examination pattern of the university follows a semester system i.e. odd semester and even semester. The odd semester begins in the month of August and the end semester is conducted in the month of December. The even semester begins in the month of January and the end semester is conducted in the month of May. The result is declared on the university website after the conduction of the semester exam.

ANGRAU Exams 2022

The students are admitted into all U.G courses except B.H.Sc. (Home Science) based on their performance in the state-level Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) conducted by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh. In the case of B.Sc. (Hons) Home Science, only women candidates are eligible for admission with a pass in two-year intermediate Examination Home Science polytechnic students are also eligible for admissions.

For PG courses, the candidates must have secured minimum OGPA of 5.50 / 10.00 (SC/ST - 5.00/10.00) or 2.50 / 4.00 (SC / ST-2.00 / 4.00) or 50% marks in traditional system (SC / ST-40%). A qualifying examination is held and candidates are selected based on merit.

For PHD courses, admission would take place upon the final decision of the selection committee constituted by the vice-chancellor of the university. Student needs to appear for entrance exam and interview at the allotted time.
