Dr. Kiran Dixit is the Principal at the P.M.B. Gujarati Science College. She did PG in Chemistry with specialization in Medicinal Chemistry. She later joined as a Lecturer in a Government College. She has also received a Ph.D degree. During teaching and all other college activities, she has also done some writing work for chemistry practical and theory books. She is the author of these books.

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“My passion for teaching and to improve students' knowledge attracts me towards the education sector”

I joined the educational profession in 1980 about 42 years ago. My father is a Math Professor and I have seen an educational environment since my childhood. In this way, I feel a deep connection with the education sector.

What is your leadership philosophy?

“To complete the work within a time frame, punctuality, and self-discipline are my leadership philosophy”

I have taken charge as a principal in Sept 2017 with great challenges. I also believe that leadership is an art. A leader is one who leads others through examples. My leadership philosophy includes punctuality, and completing the work within the expected time. Another need is to be self-disciplined and transparent. It becomes easy to execute and follow. 

How do you strategize key programs and plans for the administration of institute?

“Plan academic activities, team work under various committees and publish events on our website”

Shri Gujarati Samaj Indore is going to complete 100 years of establishment in 2023. Now, it has become a brand name in the education sector. We have our own outreach team that goes around school to school. Our strong website and academic activities widen the administration of campus. We organize all activities through team work under IQAC Cell and other committees doing their duties well.

How does the curriculum P.M.B. Gujarati Science College ensures the best practice of industry?

“Industrial visits, educational tours, workshops, seminars, and project work expert lectures are available for students”

We provide industrial visits, educational tours, workshops, seminars, project work, expert lectures and research for pupils. Our aim is to develop various skills in each & every student. We signed MOUs with some industries and organizations for the benefit of students.

How is your P.M.B. Gujarati Science College welcomes students of different races or economic backgrounds?

Our institution is an aided or minority institution. We have chosen offline or direct admission mode like Govt. colleges. Our campus gives all types of scholarships compared to all private colleges. We have the lowest affordable fees structure and students can pay in small installments. 10% discount is available for the general category students.

What are your roles and responsibilities?

“To give a ragging free campus, encouraging departmental activities and upgrading students”

 I always try to give my best for students. They are careful & alert about my duties. We provide regular classes, updated syllabus and a healthy environment. Students get a ragging free campus, and we encourage departmental activities. It is helpful in upgrading students and faculty members. Students can participate in NCC, NSS, Sports, Yoga and many more to make them a good human being.

What do you like people to know about campus that they may not know?

“Well equipped labs, outdoor sports facilities, NSS,NCC Air wing, cultural and literary activities for pupils”

Our campus consists of talented and experienced faculty members. Most of them completed PhDs, and some are NET qualified. Our campus gives well-equipped labs and we excel in our practicals. In addition, students can participate in indoor and outdoor sports facilities. They can join NSS,NCC Air wing, cultural or literary activities, and seminars. We provide Short terms certificate courses in Microbiology, and English. In the next academic session, new job oriented value based startup courses will be introduced on campus for pupils. 

What do you see as the greatest strengths of P.M.B. Gujarati Science College?

“Devoted faculties, non-teaching staff and students in the campus are our greatest strengths”

Our campus was established long back 70 yrs by Shri Gujarati Samaj in Indore. We feel very proud to be part of this socially devoted samaj. One of the strengths is an efficient, talented, devoted, dedicated and hard working team of faculty members. Another highlights includes 100% contribution of non teaching staff members and students in campus achievement.

What are the biggest challenges you see for higher education in general and P.M.B. Gujarati Science College?

“Changing global scenarios and fastest growing technologies are the greatest challenge for campus”

One of the needs of the nation is creating job opportunities for individuals. We promote innovative research and start up programs among students. One of the greatest challenges we face are fastest growing technologies and changing global scenarios. Our government needs to be aware of providing all types of facilities to deserving students to go abroad for higher studies and job opportunities.

Any suggestions do you like to give for current youth and aspiring students?

“Learn from your past and perform well”

My suggestion for youth is to work hard and perform well from the beginning. It is necessary to never look back and learn everything from the past. Mistakes are normal. Make sure to not repeat the errors. One should always learn from their past and succeed in the future.
