He has completed his Ph.D. (Computer Engineering) and M.Tech (CS). He has 21+ years of teaching experience and 9+ years of Research Experience. What keeps you connected with the Education Sector?

“Teaching and research are my prime passions”

As an academician, I am not only teaching regular subjects but also responsible for updating knowledge and imparting it to students. As the technology field continues to evolve, teachers are more curious to understand the logic and scientific reasoning behind all these new discoveries. As a teacher, we give them an insight of topics and motivate the students to learn the new requirements of industries. At Sri Aurobindo Institute of Technology, Indore I am privileged to perform versatile academic and administrative responsibilities.

What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

“Ensure continuous monitoring on student’s learning, assessment and practicals”

A HOD plays two roles in his department, as an academician and as a mentor for students. As an academician, the main aim is to nourish the young generation with their regular university curriculum and to educate them in the latest subjects according to the current requirements of industries. Second, as a mentor, a teacher may become a role model to his students. A HOD will act as a catalyst for students.

Do you have any extracurricular activities to enhance the skills of the students?

“In-house Summer Training Programs are designed for students”

Yes, various activities are designed for them. We organize various academic activities and social or co-curricular activities. In the academic section, in-house Summer training programs are designed for students to learn the extra course without any payment. Department organizes Internship programs on various subjects for the students during semester break and provides the best engineering placements. In the Industry-Academia relationship, timely Experts Lectures are organized by department. Also, students have organized and celebrated various events like republic day, Independence Day, sports week tech fest, annual programs and many other small events.

How does the curriculum ensure that the students are being prepared for the future?

“Allows students to explore advanced domain knowledge”

The university curriculum updates periodically in synchronization with Industry requirements. Students can gain knowledge of advanced domains through this course. Besides these, the institute has also established various centres of excellence, including the Amazon Web Services Academy, the Cisco Networking Academy, the Intel Intelligent Lab, and Arena Multimedia. In addition to these, special training and internship programs help students keep up with current trends.

How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects?

“A healthy combination of field activities and skill-based courses”

The University curriculum provides students with basic knowledge of the subject matter, and they are encouraged to pick the application or area on which they wish to develop a project. The practical approach helps the student think about what he is interested in and how he would like to pursue it. Practical work provides a quick result to determine where the student needs improvement.

What are the interventions you bring in apart from the curriculum to train the students?

“Activities based on both learning and assessments”

As part of the project development and understanding process, students participate in presentations, quizzes, case study assignments. 

Many small assignments and projects are designed so that the students can work together. In this way, they will learn how to manage projects in a group, activities in a team, and how to work with a vast group of people.

What would you like people to know about your institute they may not know?
