Sri Pydah Krishna Prasad, Chairman of Pydah College of Engineering and Technology, is a visionary and stellar personality in the field of education. Till date, he has served in various coveted positions like Executive Council Member, President, Vice President, and Secretary. He has been a reckoning and robust force behind prioritizing quality education and rendering selfless service to the people of Visakhapatnam through the educational empire of Pydah.

In an exclusive interview with collegedunia.com, Sri Prasad shares his experience in the education sector, leadership style, plans for the institute, and many more things.

Started in the year 1992, Pydah Educational Academy believes in providing value and quality education. Being a Chairman of this institution, I am continually working towards bringing the right opportunities and building career of the students. I feel proud to have our alumni working at key positions in top MNC’s of the world. Also, when I see our students charting their success, it always makes me proud. These are the moments that make the education sector, the best to be in! 


Leadership philosophy and style

I believe in participatory leadership by focusing on building strong teams in the Institute. Doing so will help to carry the legacy of our institution forward. I frequently communicate with the faculty members regarding the progress of the institution and take their opinions. As a Chairman, I motivate my team members to work together to make our college secure.


Keeping the infrastructure adequate – An ever-green challenge

One of the foremost challenges that I have faced is to improve infrastructural facilities for the students. In the present-day scenario and the surrounding competition, many changes need to be made as per market requirements. Currently, the college is under the process of advancing by upgrading the technology as per the latest trends. So, this is one of the significant challenges we are currently facing.

PCET Curriculum - A lot to offer

JNTU Kakinada is the affiliating body of our college, and it is responsible for designing the entire curriculum. It reflects the latest changes in the industry as well as the education sector. Besides this, we also focus on exposing our students to practical knowledge by bringing them closer to the industry. This is done through industry visits, guest lectures, internship opportunities, and workshops that match the industry trends. 

Apart from this, various guest lectures by the industry experts are conducted to keep the faculty and students updated with the ongoing and upcoming developments in the real-world. Also, workshops and seminars are organised to train our students holistically in language, quantitative, and soft skills. We also encourage them to work on real-time projects to become more efficient for the real world.

Methods opted to ensure quality education at PCET

We are proud of the discipline and creative abilities we harness in our students. Quality education is ensured through our well experienced, qualified, and dedicated faculty. They are responsible for updating information and technologies. We encourage students to engage themselves in presentations and research papers. We also focus on every student with utmost commitment and figure out ways to make him/her cope up with the curriculum and build confidence in them to succeed in whatever task they will be opting.


Maintaining relationship with the learners

It is essential to establish a healthy relationship with the students in an educational institute. We, at PCET, ensure to greet the students cordially by listening to their issues and concerns. As an administrator, it is my duty to resolve their grievances in a minimal amount of time. We make sure to put the comfort of our students at the forefront of our communication. We also organize weekly cultural events and programs to keep them all connected.

Apart from this, there is a dedicated chat group which updates the students with the latest information regularly. We also have an influential alumni association, which maintains relations with the current batches and alumni.


Placement opportunities at PCET

In here, there is a dedicated placement and training cell that guides, monitors, and trains the students for their future. The cell is involved in maintaining and upgrading the skill set of our students. 

Pydah College host several companies for the recruitment process. We believe in providing the best of the placement opportunities to our students. We wish to strengthen the Placement-Industry cell further to have a closer association with more number of companies.
