Being the Chairman of IFET, what has been your vision for the college?

“Offering quality education to all sections of the society”

Our aim is to deliver quality education of international standards. In the process of producing engineers competent at global levels, the challenge we have taken up is to bring the highest quality of education to the rural areas. We strive to provide higher education in the rural area, making sure that no talent goes to vain, and maximum opportunities are provided. The vision of the college is to provide this international level of education to the rural parts of the country.

Being the Chairman of the College, what is your philosophy of leadership?

“Democratic and participative leadership”

Leadership to me is all about collaboration and teamwork. I believe in the concept of Democracy and the voice of all. I always strive to discuss all the issues at the appropriate forums and make sure that no voice is left unheard. A series of discussions and brainstorming help us reach the decisions that provide the maximum benefit and assure progress for the institute and the country as a whole.

What can an inbound student gain from studying here at IFET?

“A more welcoming and learning environment for all”

The institution is aiming to provide the best possible education to all the students that are willing to learn. Affordable fees, a clean, hygienic and neat environment, promoting sports and cultural activities are welcome signs for different races and economic sections that we provide. We are an autonomous institution empowered to make students industry-ready by suitably designing the curriculum ourselves. This is what sets us apart from others.

How do you strategize the curriculum to ensure the best practice of industry?

“Self-designing and structuring as per industry needs”

The syllabus is designed in such a way that the student is industry-ready after the course. Being an autonomous institution, we are empowered to decide on the curriculum and syllabus in addition to the introduction of the latest technologies in job-driven courses. We can implement changes based on what is required in the industry. Also, we offer in-house training opportunities and internships to various industries through our curriculum and collaborations.

What do you think your responsibilities are to the IFET College of Engineering?

“Clear communication for smooth functioning and student development”

Being the chairman, my aim is to ensure that the communication is uniform. I always try to make sure that there is no gap in the communication. The same is inculcated with the managing team to ensure that the information is transferred with no communication gap both internally and externally about the institution. Providing good liaison between the university and the institution, upholding the reputation of the college, opportunities for good academic results, placements and personality development for students, are all my responsibilities.

What do you think should be the college’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“Producing industry-ready professionals”

Our top priority in the coming years is to establish an overall curriculum to strengthen all aspects of the student. Foreign language teaching and signing MOUs with foreign universities are immediate plans by which students will stand to gain good exposure. Bringing more hands-on experience to students in the latest technologies in addition to classroom teaching, and making sure that the student is ready to work in any organization are our priorities.

What do you see as the college’s greatest strengths?

“Well-established academic and research culture”

Our strength lies in us being an autonomous institute. We are empowered to decide the

curriculum which is best in the current time and apply those based on requirements in the real world. Functioning of the R & D cell, planning cell, monitoring cell, industry-institute interaction cell and entrepreneurship development cell in addition to a big library with physical and e-books are our key USPs that enhance student development as a whole.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth?

“Honesty and hard work will always pay”

One can shine in any field provided some unique skill is developed. Always work hard to achieve your goals in life and show consistent efforts with full honesty and power. Remember, God helps those who help themselves.
