Refreshing and Delightful experience in education industry

Education industry is a place where the exchange of knowledge, ideas, skills, and habits takes place. I am associated with this field since 1992 and have played a variety of roles from Lecturer to Director of technical institute.

In the recent years, I believe education industry has evolved dynamically. Now, it is not just limited to classroom learning or books. This field has the power to unlock the potential in every child, expand their dreams, and give them the skills to achieve goals. I feel fortunate when the students ask for my guidance while they wish to explore more academically. It is the best way to contribute to the progression of humanity and shaping the future of the student and society at large.

Leadership Philosophy of Dr. Joshi

My philosophy as a leader is to create a vision and communicate the same and guide my team members to achieve the defined goals together. With this vision, one gets ignited with the passion and is inspired to do the best.

My leadership style is to develop essential skills to motivate the students, staff and faculties. I effectively communicate with them, fine-tune critical thinking skills, build and leverage partnerships.

I consider myself as a visionary leader; who possess the ability to identify trends and have the courage to be innovative. I also believe a leader should be a mentor to subordinates by providing training, sharing resources and networks that can help you move forward in your career, challenging you to move beyond your comfort zone, exposing you to different perspectives and experiences, creating a learning environment in which you feel comfortable taking risks and focusing on your total career development.

Broad spectrum learning practices at GIT

The Global Institute of Technology is known for its academic excellence and good placements through our engineering programs. Being affiliated with Rajasthan Technical University (RTU), our curriculum is designed and prescribed by the University. We make sure that the curriculum also has inputs and knowledge from the industry experts.

Many seminars and workshops are conducted to provide better insight view of any industrial challenges, which in turn helps in motivating them to find possible solutions for the same. It also focuses on rapid developments which are happening in the area of technology.

Extracurricular activity is a non-credit component of the curriculum that not only helps in character and personality building but also in understanding the needs of the society and contributing in an effective way to meet these social challenges. Our laboratory courses are modeled to fit the requirement of industries, and apart from that we provide internship to students via our Industry Cell.

Methods opted to build a relationship with the students

The perception has always been that if the Director knows your name, it means that you are in trouble far too often. This does not have to be the case. The Director does not have to be the feared presence behind the closed door in the office.

It is important to build good relationships with the students by treating them the way they would like to be treated. Simply stated, students want to be treated with respect. I have an open-door policy and encourage all students to come and visit, or to discuss their grievances at any time of the day. Offering positive reinforcement, being consistent, smiling, and listening to their concerns all help to gain students' trust and friendship.

Upcoming goals for GIT

Being a technical institute, we are required to change our goals according to the trends. It is rightly that “Change is the only constant.” Being the Director, I wish to take the institute as the top leading and recognized institute. It is also necessary to customize the courses according to the change in technology. Students shall have the flexibility to do dual degrees to as per need of Industry.

With all these goals in mind, I want to create better entrepreneurs by imparting value based education to the students. Last but not the least, to establish and strengthen Industry-Institute interaction and be industry solution providers.

Suggestions to young generations

With the rising competition, students must think innovatively to be a standout from the crowd. They should develop their hobbies about their career choices. It is essential to take challenges and become enthusiastic to succeed in their lives. The students must focus more on imagination than knowledge. They should be job creators rather than job seekers.
