DMI College of Engineering

What can an inbound student gain from studying here in your college?

“Varied life and professional aspects of education”

Compared with global universities, Indian universities also provide great opportunities to the students. In our institute, we primarily focus on education along with discipline as we believe that education is not the only duty of an institute/college, but making learners punctual and valuable at the same time. Only then can an institute ensure it is producing better citizens to the nation. We give importance to basic education, science and technology, development, innovation, research along with spirituality and discipline. So, all these major factors are being provided in one umbrella in the form of education. These are the factors that build the future of India.

How does the curriculum of DMI ensure the best practice of industry?

“Placement training and industrial activity”

We are affiliated to Anna University, so we are subjected to follow all the norms and curriculum proposed by the affiliated university. In addition to their well-defined curriculum, we have a separate training and placement cell operating in our college. Their primary goal is to train the students and fill the gap between education and industry requirements. There are continuous training programs offered to the students to help them become employable engineers for the future.

Being the Principal of DMI, how would you describe your leadership?

‘Overall working development and welfare of members”

I consider the principal as an academic leader, who keenly looks after all the academic activities including college development and empowering the faculties as well. Welfare of the student community, enriching knowledge and discharging all the duties to the right people is the duty of a leader for any educational institution.

“Higher accreditations and more professional value”

Our college is accredited with three programs and looking forward to increasing the number of programs attracting a diverse population of students. We have a road map to make the institute autonomous under Anna University’s affiliation. We are in the process of building all the parameters necessary to get autonomous status. Our vision is to become an internationally reputed institute by producing competing professionals with exemplary skills and ethical values. And our mission is to achieve the highest level of technological and professional excellence to import quality and holistic professional education to train the professionals to be entrepreneurs and responsible employees. We look forward to undertaking many projects that benefit society and mankind. We also want to enrich the skills of faculties by assigning them various projects in the coming future.

How do you train your faculty according to industry standards?

“Upgrading skills with various programs”

Any teacher can be a leader, if they have certain qualities in addition to teaching like courage, decision making skill, integrity and loyalty. Once staff members join the institution, we conduct orientation programs along with teaching methodologies and soft skills to manage students. We also train the teachers about the protocols being followed by DMI College of engineering, and the program designed by the University itself. We run FDPs, orientation programs and training to upskill teachers with the latest development in the field of engineering.
