Ambedkar University is all set to add two new campuses to its existing three in the Capital, wherein the students intake will be increased to 5,000, said the deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.
Recently, the Delhi government-run Dr. B R Ambedkar University, conducted its 10th convocation ceremony, where more than 1,000 students were awarded degrees. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was the guest of honor at the ceremony.
Speaking at the convocation ceremony, Sisodia said that the fourth campus of the varsity will stretch over 49 acres, which is being constructed in Dhirpur. The fifth campus will be established in Rohini, which will intake a total of 3,475 students for different courses.
Further, the infrastructure of both the campuses will be equipped with world-class facilities and it will also be environmentally sustainable. Both the campuses are designed to be self-sufficient in terms of energy and will use green energy, he added.
During the convocation, a total of 1,042 students were awarded degrees in various courses including PhD, MPhil, MBA, MA, BA (Hons) and Diplomas in various fields of studies such as Development Studies, Psychosocial Clinical Studies, Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, Human Ecology, Development Practice, Social Design, etc.
Deputy Chief Minister who also holds the Delhi Education Minister portfolio urged the graduating students to employ the knowledge and skills, which they have acquired from the university, towards bringing equality and social justice in society.
Further, he directed the students to hold their certificates carrying Babasaheb Ambedkar’s name with great pride and work towards taking the information to the public, Mr. Sisodia added.
Being grateful to be a part of the convocation at the varsity, Sisodia congratulated all the AUD graduates and wished them luck for their new endeavors.
He also applauded the Ambedkar University for its innovative and critical educational approach, which has resulted in giving the finest scholars and citizens to the society.
