Assam Board Cancels HSLC English Exam Due to Cheating; Revised Dates to be Announced Soon

New Delhi: The Board of Secondary Education Assam (SEBA) has cancelled the HSLC English exam in one of the centres in Cachar district. The exam has been cancelled after allegations of improper exam Practices by students at the JR Ucchotor Madhyamik Vidyalaya Gonirgram Higher Secondary testing site in Cachar. However, the Board has not yet announced the revised examination date. 

In the last week, SEBA conducted the Class 10 HSLC exam 2023 for English paper on March 3, 2023. A total of 4,22,174 students appeared for the board exam that was being held in 912 centres across the state. 

The SEBA asked the students to show up for the remaining exams without using any unfair tactics while also announcing the cancellation of the specified exam date.

In order to identify any irregularities in the next exam days, the Assam board has also requested reports from the district-level committees and HSLC exam centres. The board will punish them severely, it was said.

Ranoj Pegu, the Assam minister of education, also posted the SEBA board notice to his social media accounts.

The Class 10 Assam board exams began on March 3, and will be held till March 20 for the subjects like advanced mathematics, geography, history, Sanskrit, computer science, commerce, home science, Nepali, Arabic, and Persian papers for the HLSC 2023 matric examinations.
