Amit Shah Launches MBBS Textbooks in Hindi, Praises PM for Promoting the Language Globally

New Delhi: Union Home Minister, Amit Shah launched Hindi textbooks for medical students in Bhopal on Sunday, October 16, 2022. In his speech, he praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his initiatives for promoting the Hindi language on an international stage.

As per the reports, Hindi textbooks have been launched for anatomy, biochemistry and physiology subjects for first-year MBBS students. This step has been taken as a part of Madhya Pradesh's project to provide education in the Hindi language to medical students of India.

On this occasion, Union Home Minister, Amit Shah said, “Prime Minister Modi has embarked on a mission of providing medical and engineering education in all languages, including Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Malayalam, Bengali".

"As per the Prime Minister’s vision, our languages are being given importance, and entrance for medical colleges held through NEET, entrance for engineering through JEE, and those in UG courses are being conducted in 12 languages" he added.

In his speech, he congratulated Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for his initiatives in helping the PM in fulfilling his vision of providing medical education to students in Hindi. He stated that education should be provided in the mother tongue to students.

Chief Minister Chouhan added that students who are from economically weaker sections of society were unable to pursue the teaching of engineering and medicine due to teaching engineering and medicine in English. Now, they can study medicine in their own mother tongue.

“Every man’s thinking process is in their mother tongue, and therefore, as Nelson Mandela had said, ‘If you talk to someone in a language, it reaches their brain. But if you talk to the person in their mother tongue, it reaches the person’s heart,” he further added.
