New Delhi: Delhi government-run Ambedkar University has released its admission policy for undergraduate programs for the academic session 2022-23. Accordingly, it will offer UG seats through CUET 2022.

Talking about the admission process, the Vice-Chancellor of Ambedkar University Delhi, Anu Singh Lather stated that candidates who wish to apply for admission in undergraduate courses will be required to appear for CUET 2022.

“The university has decided to go with the CUET system for admission as it will offer equal admission opportunities to all students. Going into NTA for CUET will be the most viable and good option,” Singh added.

As for candidates who are seeking admission to supernumerary seats, CUET scores are mandatory for Ambedkar University Admission 2022. The eligibility criteria for UG admission seats will be decided on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in the entrance exam. 

Suresh Babu, Dean of Students Services, said, “Being a state university it was not mandatory for us to go for CUET. However, in the interest of the larger society, we decided to go for CUET as sooner or later all universities will be asked to join".

As per Ambedkar University, students who are preparing to apply for BA (Hons) courses in languages such as English, Hindi, etc will have to appear for one mandatory language subject entrance examination, CUET

Until last year, admission seats at AUD were offered to students based on their marks secured in the Class 12th examination and the merit list released by the university. With the changes in admission policy, the university will now prioritize the CUET marks of students.

Talking about the process, Vice-Chancellor Anu Singh Lathers said, “We are targeting a 15% quota available to all Indian students. We will have more students from all over India". Further details for the same will be made available on the university website for candidates. 

CUET 2022: Registration Process

Interested candidates who are preparing to apply for AUD Admission 2022 are required to submit their applications for CUET 2022. CUET 2022 registrations are now open on the official website of NTA at cuet.samarth.ac.in till May 6, 2022. 

After the commencement of the CUET examination, candidates with a valid exam score will be able to register for the admission process through the AUD official admission website. The selection of candidates for admission seats will be done base on their entrance test scores. 

To confirm the undergraduate program admission seats, selected candidates will have to pay their program fee during the given deadline. Failing to do so can result in admission seat cancellation for the students. 

Ambedkar University Delhi Admission 2022: Eligibility Criteria 

To apply for most AUD UG Courses, candidates are required to have at least 50% marks in the qualifying examination (except for Bachelor of Vocational Studies (Bloc)). While for language subjects, students must have at least 65% marks. 

Additionally, students are required to have at least 50% marks in their class 12th board examination. The CUET marks of candidates will be calculated on the basis of the best marks scores in registered subjects.

Explaining the criteria, Professor Kartik Dave, Dean said, "Merit will be based on the highest score that a candidate gets by considering all the combinations of subjects in which s(he) appears in the CUET. In other words, the best combination to benefit the candidate will be done”.

Ambedkar University Admissions: Application Fee

Talking about the admission fee, Suresh Babu, Dean of student services, informed, "The application fee last year was around Rs 390 for UG and Rs 510 for PG. This will increase by around 10% this year.”

As of now, Ambedkar University has reserved 85% of admission seats for Delhi students, while 50% of seats are reserved for all Indian students. There will be no changes in the reservation criteria of the university as admission seats will be offered to students through CUET only.
