New Delhi: AIIMS Rishikesh is now preparing to organise its "Youth 20 Summit" on May 4 and May 5, 2023 ahead of this year's G-20 conference. For the summit, the institute also inaugurated the curtain raiser on February 23, 2023.
AIIMS Rishikesh is among the top three medical institutes in the nation that have been chosen for Youth 20 Summit. The primary purpose of this event is to prepare the country's young people for the G-20 meeting and make them an engagement group.
Y-20 is the official youth development organisation for the G20. It promotes youth as potential leaders to make people aware of global problems, share ideas, dispute, negotiate, and seek agreement.
In addition to this, it aims to bring together future leaders from all around the world to talk and discuss global issues. The activities that are going to be carried out by Y-20 will center on young leadership and cooperation on a global scale.
Young leaders from the world, including those from India, will convene at Y-20 India to discuss and negotiate solutions to this generation's problems. They will further discuss ways that will positively affect the world. Y-20 India will serve as a forum for these discussions.
Professor Meenu Singh, Executive Director of AIIMS stated that the goal of the summit is to better prepare our youth for the global challenges that lie ahead. It will improve their capacity for actively participating in events that will shape their future better positively.
The Youth 20 Summit is scheduled to be held in Rishikesh at the AIIMS campus for a duration of two days, from May 4 to May 5, 2023. "Youth will be prepared to address current global problems and promote knowledge about the G-20 conference," added Singh.
Professor Jaya Chaturvedi, Dean of Academic stated that the project would be practical and provide the younger generation with a fresh perspective. AIIMS will organise various programs for the Y-20 event, which will take place over the following five days.
