New Delhi: The All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS), Guwahati celebrated its third Institute Day celebration on January 12, 2023. The instructors, students, support staff, and nursing officers of the institute all performed cultural acts as part of the occasion.
As per AIIMS Guwahati, the keynote speech on the 3rd Institute Day celebration event was given by Dr. Subhash Khanna, the Chief Medical Director of Swagat Hospitals and a famous laparoscopic robotic surgeon from Eastern India.
During the event, Dr Subhash Khanna gave a speech about his experiences as a small-town surgeon and the state's growing healthcare industry. For taking a personal interest and launching the institute on this day, he commended the Assam government, the prime minister, and the then-health minister, Dr. Harshvardhan.
He shared that the establishment of AIIMS in Assam is a huge step towards strengthening the healthcare infrastructure of the state.
In other news, IIM Jammu and AIIMS Jammu have jointly taken an initiative to investigate the opportunities to conduct research and support innovative products/processes in the field of biotechnology in Jammu and Kashmir.
This initiative was carried out by IIM Jammu Foundation for Entrepreneurship, Innovation, & Skill Development, the institution's business incubator under the Direction of Professor B. S. Sahay, Director of IIM Jammu.
Prior to the main event, a canvassing regarding the grant was conducted at AIIMS Jammu for the benefit of all doctors. The session was organised by Dr Pranay Mahajan, Hospital Administrator, AIIMS Jammu and chaired by Lt. Gen. Sunil Kant, SM VSM (Retd.), Medical Superintendent and Dean (Research), AIIMS Jammu.
