New Delhi: All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is all set to offer 6 online credit courses beginning in the semester of January 2023.
According to an AICTE statement, the enrollment for these 6 online credit courses will begin in the second week of January 2023, and the deadline for registration for the examination would be announced subsequently.
The paragraph 4(7) of the Gazette Notification for Credit Framework Regulations revealed that higher education institutions may only grant credits for up to 40% of the total courses taught in a certain programme during a semester via the online credit course delivered through SWAYAM Platform.

The AICTE has also implemented credit transfers up to 40% on UGC pattern in continuation of AICTE (Credit Framework for Online Learning Courses through SWAYAM) Regulation and has previously urged all universities and colleges to allow credit transfer up to 40% of the total courses being offered in a semester through SWAYAM and to encourage the students of their colleges to utilise the online courses and learning resources through SWAYAM Platform and utilise the credit transfer facility of SWAYAM as much as possible.
