New Delhi: AICTE has developed the Unified Credit Framework National Higher Equation Qualification Framework (NHEQF)/National Skill Qualification Framework (NSeF) for implementation in all the AICTE-approved technical institutions.

The programme was launched in accordance with the goal of NEP 2020. According to an official statement issued by the council, AICTE has put the NHEQF in order to guarantee that students taking technical courses are employable upon completion of their studies.
It also guarantees that higher educational institutions have a clear understanding of a student's educational advancement if a student decides to resume their studies from where they left off.
A student will obtain 4 credits upon completion of the 12th standard, 6 credits upon completion of a four-year undergraduate degree, and 8 credits upon completion of a PhD programme. The AICTE circular has a more detailed breakdown of the Unified Credit Levels for Engineering and Technology Education.

At each intake, the institution must identify educational or skill gaps, and appropriate bridge courses may be provided. To make students employable after each exit, the skill component with an incremental increase in skill in respective disciplines may be implemented in the curriculum by the concerned regulatory body/University/Technical Board, as the case may be, starting from the first year of the programme.
