AICTE: Council of Architecture (CoA) to Set B.Arch Admission Norms

As per various media reports, AICTE, Rajive Kumar, Member Secretary issued a correction to the earlier notification listing the eligibility criteria for architecture courses.

According to notification released by the CoA last year, students must have studied physics, chemistry and mathematics in their Class 12 for seeking admission to BArch courses

AICTE had earlier said that physics, chemistry and mathematics are not necessary to be eligible to apply for admission to architecture courses as the handbook released by AICTE had not mentioned the mandatory requirement of physics, chemistry and mathematics for admission to architecture courses.

Fashion/Packaging Technology Course Update

AICTE has also informed that courses such as fashion technology and packaging technology do not mandatorily require students to study physics, chemistry and math subjects in Class 12.

Earlier, the council had announced that students without physics, chemistry or math in Class 12 can seek admission to engineering and technology programmes.

According to AICTE, two supernumerary seats will be reserved for Covid-orphaned children for each course under the 'PM CARES' scheme in all affiliated polytechnic institutions from 2022-23 academic year onwards.

As per the ‘Revised Academic Calendar’ released by AICTE, the institutes offering PGDM can commence the academic sessions for existing & new students and start classes in offline or blended mode (online as well as offline).
