AICTE Allows Haryana Universities to Start B.Tech Course In Hindi from 2021-23: Read Full Report Here


As per the latest notice released by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the council has permitted three technical institutes in Haryana to offer a B.Tech program in Hindi Languages from the academic session 2021-2022.

October 23, 2021: As per the latest notice released by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the council has permitted three technical institutes in Haryana to offer a B.Tech program in Hindi Languages from the academic session 2021-2022. 

These universities and colleges in Haryana state can start B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, and Electrical Engineering in Hindi for all interested candidates. 

After receiving permission from AICTE, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar; JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad will start B.Tech programs in the Hindi Language. 

Additionally, the All India Council for Technical Education has included DeenBandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology, Murthal, Sonepat in the list of colleges for the B.Tech Program commencement. 

While talking about the notice released by AICTE, Vikram Singh, JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, Haryana said, “We have been teaching in Hindi, it’s just that we did not translate technical terms into Hindi.”

“The only difference is that it was not formal and students had to write their papers in English. Now, this is official" Vikram Singh further added. 

JC Bose University of Science and Technology will offer 30 admission seats for its mechanical engineering in Hindi. The course curriculum for the same will be prepared after translating the materials available in the Hindi Language.

As for DeenBandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology in Sonepat, 30 admission seats will be offered for its B.Tech in mechanical engineering and electrical engineering in the Hindi Language. 

Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology will offer a total of 30 admission seats for its B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering, 30 for mechanical engineering, and the remaining 30 for computer science engineering and information technology program. 

The initiative to offer courses in regional languages has been taken in line with the New Education Policy 2020. With this step, the education minister has permitted over 11 institutions to offer courses in their regional languages. 

Referring to the decision, RK Garg, DeenBandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology said, “Once we see students opting for this program increasing, then the process of recruitment for faculty to teach in Hindi will start". 

“If we find that it has been successful for mechanical engineering, Hindi for other streams will also start", RK Garg, Senior Professor further added. 

As of now, the universities will now offer a total of 210 admission seats for the B.Tech Program in Hindi. Admission to universities will be done based on the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) scores of the students.
