Master of Science [M.S] [Bioinformatics (international)] From Saarland University

Modern diagnostic techniques are used, for example, to examine microbial populations, analysing them to determine which proteins they contain and to characterize their gene sequences. Other questions of interest concern safety issues that arise when complex mixtures of chemicals are present in wastewater: How hazardous is a particular cocktail of toxins? And what effect does it have on the human body? The specialists who can provide answers to these questions have to understand complex biological and pharmaceutical mechanisms and processes, and must have a good command of the methodologies used in informatics and environmental engineering.The Master's degree programme 'Bioinformatics (international)' links the fields of bioinformatics and environmental engineering. The programme is run jointly by Saarland University and the University of Science and Technology (UST) in South Korea. The M.Sc. programme is based on the mutual recognition of academic credits from the Master's degree course 'Bioinformatics' (Saarland University) and 'Energy and Environmental Engineering' (UST).
