- In media science, we are concerned with the thorough investigation, assessment and classification of media in their technical, social, institutional, cultural and aesthetic dimensions. For this, media scientists need knowledge of various media topics, theories, methods, analytical instruments and design criteria.
- The combination of theoretical models with historical perspectives and practical projects forms a multi-perspective, scientific basis for reflection. The specialty of the course is an interdisciplinary approach that combines cultural studies in media studies with courses in media economics, economics and computer science.

- General university entrance qualification or relevant subject-related university entrance qualification
- DSH certificate (minimum DSH-2) issued by a German university or Studienkolleg according to KMK-regulations (minimum result DSH 2)
- TestDaF certificate passed with level 4 in all four exam sections
- Deutsches Sprachdiplom Stufe II issued by the "Deutsche Kultursministerkonferenz"
- Großes Deutsches Sprachdiplom awarded by the Goethe-Institut
