- The subject of educational science is a share subject within the two-subject bachelor's degree program of the Faculty of Cultural Studies. The aim of studying educational science is to impart basic specialist knowledge, the ability to work independently as well as the acquisition of occupational competence in the field of extra-curricular educational work.
- The course is designed in such a way that, on the one hand, basic knowledge is conveyed that introduces educational thinking and working methods. This includes conceptually narrowing basic pedagogical questions and problems, understanding them in their historical context and being able to record them theoretically and through research. On the other hand, it is particularly about the acquisition and development of occupational field-specific knowledge and reflection.

- General university entrance qualification or relevant subject-related university entrance qualification
- DSH certificate (minimum DSH-2) issued by a German university or Studienkolleg according to KMK-regulations (minimum result DSH 2)
- TestDaF certificate passed with level 4 in all four exam sections
- Deutsches Sprachdiplom Stufe II issued by the "Deutsche Kultursministerkonferenz"
- Großes Deutsches Sprachdiplom awarded by the Goethe-Institut
- telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule
- Feststellungprüfung by a recognized Foundation college affiliated to a German university
