- The program is located at the interface of different disciplines that are relevant for solving current energy and process engineering problems. Working on these challenges always require the cooperation of a large number of experts from different disciplines.
- Their expertise and understanding of systems are essential for the challenges of a society without fossil raw materials and energy sources.
- Energy and process engineering, as taught in our master's program, encompasses the fundamental physical, chemical and biological processes of material conversion for the provision of energy or industrial products.
- The combination of these basic building blocks into an overall process as well as the integration into possible fields of application and sectors are also considered. It is also possible to specialize in individual subject areas to gain a more in-depth understanding.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Students should have a Bachelor’s degree from recognized institutions or universities.
Applicants with a Degree from Bangladesh, China, India, Iran, or Pakistan will have to submit a GRE (General) Test. Technical University Munich has defined required minimum scores, lower scores will not be accepted!
- The required scores are:
- Verbal reasoning: (will not be taken into account anymore)
- Quantitative reasoning: 157
- Analytical writing: 3.5
- The Institution Code: 7806, Department: 5199 ("all other departments").
Alternatively, students can submit a scorecard of the Indian GATE test (Computer Science; for M.Sc. CSE the Mechanical Engineering Test will also be accepted). The minimal qualifying score of the respective year is necessary.

To apply for the MS Automotive Engineering program of TUM, you must have completed a bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field from a recognized university. You must demonstrate proficiency in English through a recognized language test such as TOEFL, IELTS, or equivalent. Submission of GRE score is necessary for admission in this program.
To apply for the Master in Renewable Energy program of TUM you must have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, natural sciences, or mathematics, with a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Along with this you must also have a valid ELP test score. GRE score is not optional but preferred.
International students applying for admission at TUM must submit a valid German Language Proficiency test certificate. You can check the admission requirements of the said program from BA Architecture at TUM.
