TS LAWCET Exam Pattern is decided by the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE), and will be notified after notification for TS LAWCET 2023 has been released. TS LAWCET is an entrance test held for admissions into 3 year and 5 year LLB courses into participating law colleges throughout the state of Telangana. Telangana State Law Common Entrance Test 2023 (TS LAWCET 2023) will be held tentatively in the month of July 2023.
- TS LAWCET is conducted in online mode only and carries no negative marking.
- Candidates must answer 120 questions carrying 120 marks in 90 minutes.

Detailed TS LAWCET 2023 Exam Pattern
Osmania University will hold the exam on behalf of TSCHE (Telangana State Council of Higher Education). There are three sections in the paper:
- Part A: General Knowledge and Mental Ability
- Part B: Current Affairs
- Part C: Aptitude for the Study of Law

Telangana Law CET offers two programs. Both the papers have the same sections but the difficulty level varies. Tabulated below is the section-wise distribution:

Mode of TS LAWCET Exam
The law entrance examination will be a Computer Based Test. Each candidate will be appointed a computer at TS LAWCET Exam Center only. It is suggested that each test taker must practice through ‘Online Test Series’ only.
The examination tests the following abilities of candidates:
- Aptitude for Study of Law
- General Knowledge and Mental Ability and
- Current Affairs
TS LAWCET 2023- Duration of Exam
- The duration of the law entrance exam is 1 hour 30 minutes (90 minutes).
- It is mandatory for the applicants to complete the exam in a given period of time.
- No extra time will be allotted to any of the candidates under any circumstances.
- In case of PwD and SAP candidates, an extra 20 minutes will be allotted to complete the examination.
- No sectional time limit is allotted to the sections in the examination.
Type of Questions in TS LAWCET
- Questions in the law entrance examination are objective type i.e. multiple choice questions.
- There will be four choices to question.
- Candidates have to mark the most appropriate answer.
- There will be a question of an essay too, which is descriptive in nature.
TS LAWCET Medium of Examination
- Telangana Law Common Entrance Test will be administered in English and Telugu medium.
- From this year, candidates can attempt the exam in Urdu as well.
- Applicants can attempt the questions as per their preference.

TS LAWCET 2023 Marking Scheme
- Each question in the exam will carry 1 mark.
- For every correct response, the candidate is awarded 1 mark.
- In case of wrong answers, there is no penalty of a mark.
- For unattempted questions, there is no negative marking.
- In case, a candidate marks two answers to a question, it will be treated as a wrong answer.
Qualifying marks in TS LAWCET
- Candidates must score a minimum of 35% marks to qualify the entrance exam, which means that minimum passing marks are 42 out of 120.
- However, no minimum marks have to be obtained by candidates belonging to SC/ ST category to qualify the law entrance exam.
Tie Breaker in TS LAWCET
In case of more than one candidate obtaining same marks, the following criteria will be followed:
- Marks in Part C i.e. Aptitude for the Study of Law will be considered
- In case the tie still continues, marks in Part B i.e. Current Affairs will be considered
- If the tie still persists, candidates with the same marks will be grouped together for ranking purposes and at the time of admission, higher age might become the decisive factor.
TS LAWCET 2023 Syllabus
There is no official syllabus set for TS LAWCET. The exam will have three parts and will evaluate candidates across various parameters.
Part A: General Knowledge and Mental Ability
The section is divided into two subsections namely general knowledge and mental ability. General knowledge means Static knowledge/ facts that have happened before. It could be related to people/ places/ things etc.

Part B: Current Affairs
Answer questions that are formulated on the basis of ongoing news topics and current affairs. This implies that candidates must remain up-to-date with the significant and essential events and occurrences taking place across the world.

Part C: Aptitude for the Study of Law
Candidates appearing for the exam will be tested on the basis of their elementary knowledge regarding the basic principles of the Law and Constitution of India.
This section will cover the following topics:

- Supreme Court Judgments
