MICAT 2022 Selection Process: GE/PI Shortlist (Released), Answer Key, Merit List, Cutoff

MICAT 2022 Selection Procedure

Selection always depends on the attitude of the candidate, the way they express themselves with words and actions, the unconventional answer in the most stressed situation, proves to be more successful in locking the eyes of the Selector concerned.

MICAT Selection Procedure depends on the following three steps:

STEP 1: CAT/XAT/GMAT

Concerned candidates willing to appear for MICAT 2022 should have appeared in any one of the three competitive examinations, i.e. CAT, XAT & GMAT.

STEP 2: Securing qualifying score in MICAT 2022

The candidates will be marked on the basis of three sections concerned by the institute:

• Section A: Psychometric Test
• Section B: (has 4 sub-sections) - Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation, General awareness; Divergent and Convergent Thinking
• Section C: Descriptive Test

STEP 3: Group Exercise & Personal Interview

After the declaration of the results, the candidates who score the minimum marks required for qualification will have their names mentioned in the merit list, and thus, they will proceed for the General Exercise & Personal Interview rounds.

Preparation of Shortlist of the candidates for GE & PI:

• Section A of MICAT 2022 (Psychometric test) is a qualifier.
• Those who qualify on the Psychometric, their relative performance on CAT/XAT/GMAT will be considered. Candidates clearing a minimum cut-off in CAT /XAT total percentile/GMAT score shall be considered.
• Those who qualify based on the CAT/XAT/GMAT performance, their Section B of MICAT 2022 will be assessed.
• Those who qualify on the basis of relative performance subject to a minimum cut-off in *Normalized Scores of Section B of MICAT 2022 shall have their Section C of MICAT 2022 Assessed. Each section will have its own cut-off.
• Those who qualify on the basis of a, b, c and d (on the basis of relative performance subject to a minimum cut-off in Normalized Scores of Section C of MICAT 2022) shall be considered for shortlisting for GE and PI. Short-listed candidates will be called for GE and PI at Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata & Mumbai. (GE & PI candidate list is prepared on the Composite Score formula of 50% CAT/XAT/GMAT and 50% MICAT 2022 scores)

MICAT 2022 General Exercise & Personal Interview Process

Candidates need to express themselves with their words and actions confidently with an attitude that assure the selector that the candidate can tackle the stressful situations. They also check the overall personality of the candidate concerned.

Candidates should understand that it is one of the most important rounds on the basis of which the admission process is based entirely. The candidate is marked and checked on the basis of following parameters:

• Clarity in thought
• Ability to work in a team
• Knowledge
• Determination
• Leadership
• Creativity
• Communication skills
• Overall eligibility for the course

Important attributes to be followed during the GE/PI rounds

• Candidates who are selected for this GE-PI round are called upon by sending call letters to them.
• The GE-PI round is conducted in two phases.
• The first phase is held at Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai
• The second phase for group exercise and personal interview is held at Ahmedabad itself
• This will be marked as the final and last round of MICAT 2021 selection procedure. After this, the final merit list will be released.

MICAT 2022: Calculation of Composite Scores

MICA calculates the composite score by amalgamating the entire process of selection accordingly. From the MICAT 2022 scores to General exercise & Personal Interview, the performance of the candidate is marked as a crucial stand in preparing every individual composite score.

Candidate should note the important aspects about the composite scores which are given below:

• The three rounds contribute to the composite score of candidates.
• Every round has a fixed weightage to be contributed in the composite score.
• MICAT admission test: 50%
• GE (group exercise): 20%
• PI (personal interview): 30%
• The marks obtained by each candidate at every stage contribute less or more to the composite score.

MICAT 2022 Final Merit List

All the candidates after completion of the GE & PI are considered for the final merit list by the majority of the panelist of PI.

All those who meet the criteria described above, their final composite score shall be created based on the following weightage:

• CAT/XAT/GMAT: 20%
• MICAT: 30%
• GE: 20%
• PI: 30%
