MAH MCA CET Counselling 2023: CET Cell, Maharashtra is likely to start the counselling process in August 2023. Centralized Allotment Process

Centralized Allotment Process (CAP)

The admission and seat allocation process for MAH MCA CET 2023 would be conducted through the Centralized Allotment Process. CAP Authority will invite Online Application Forms from candidates for participating in the Centralized Admission Process. This process is followed by confirmation of Online Application Forms and Document Verification at Facilitation Centre by the Candidate in person.

During centralized allotment, the candidate can opt to ‘Freeze’, ‘Slide’ or ‘Float’ the allocated seat for the subsequent round. The methods are provided below:

  • Freeze– Candidates accept the offered seat and they do not want to participate in any further rounds of seat allocation. After ‘freeze’, they will not be considered in subsequent rounds of admission.
  • Slide– Candidates accept the offered seat and indicate that if admission to the academic program of higher preference is offered within the same college/ institute, they will accept it. After ‘slide’, candidates will be considered in subsequent rounds of admission or CAP.
  • Float- Candidates accept the offered seat and indicate that if the admission to an academic program of higher preference in any college/ institute is offered, they will accept it. Else, they will continue with the currently accepted academic program. Such candidates will be considered in subsequent rounds of admission or CAP.
  • Candidates who choose either Float or Slide option, and secure the admission seat of their choice of higher preference, then it would automatically result in the forfeiture of the seat accepted by them in the earlier round.
  • Sliding and Floating options will not be available to the candidates who have offered admission in their first choice.

Filling Option Form for CAP Round 1 and 2. All the candidates who wish to participate in CAP should mandatorily fill the Online Option form for each respective CAP Round. Candidates must remember the following points while filling the option form:

  • Candidates can fill the online application form after they log in through their credentials on the website.
  • No changes would be allowed in the Options after confirmation,
  • The maximum number of options for CAP Round 1 and 2 is 100.
  • Candidates are allowed to fill minimum of 1 and a maximum of 100 options.
  • They can take the printout of confirmed Option form for all future reference
Seat Allotment

MAH MCA CET 2023 Seat Allotment

MAH MCA CET Counselling and Seat Allotment will be conducted through the CAP. There will be a total of 3 rounds of Centralized Allotment. In the first three rounds of CAP, the centralized allotment would be done for eligible candidates from both Maharashtra State and OMS categories. The third round of CAP would be conducted only for Maharashtra State candidates

Types of Seats

  1. The seats reserved for Maharashtra State Candidates are further grouped into different categories:
  • Those seats which will be offered for admission to Maharashtra State Candidates irrespective of their Home University Area are known as State Level Seats (SL Seats).
  • There are specific seats that are reserved for Home University i.e., the University under the jurisdiction of which that institute falls. These are called Home University (HU Seats). They are available for allotment through CAP for the Maharashtra Candidates who have their Home University status as that particular University for whose seats they are applying. 
  • There is a certain percentage of seats that are reserved for candidates belonging to Universities other than Home University (OHU Seats) i.e. for the Universities other than the Home University under the jurisdiction of which that institute falls. These are known as OHU seats. Candidates are required to opt for seats of other universities (excluding their home university) which fall under OHU seats. To take an example, candidates who have their home university as Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University will not be considered eligible for the OHU seats of those institutes which are located in Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University. Candidates having their home University other than Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University are eligible to apply for OHU seats of the Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University.
  1. Some seats are reserved for Outside Maharashtra State Candidates will be allotted through CAP- They are categorized as OMS seats, meant only for First Year Applicants in MCA course. These seats will be considered as belonging to General Category.
  2. There are certain seats that are available for admission to candidates who belong to Maharashtra Karnataka Disputed Border Area. They are known as MKB seats.
  3. There is a reservation of 15% for candidates who are Foreign Nationals/Persons of Indian Origin/Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries. Out of these 15% seats – One-third will be reserved for children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries and 2/3 will be reserved for PIOs/Foreign Nationals. These seats are categorized as Foreign Nationals/Persons of Indian Origin /Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries Seats.
  4. There is a reservation for Jammu & Kashmir Migrant Candidates- One seat over and above the sanctioned intake capacity in each engineering institute is reserved for them under the Centralized Allotment Process and are categorized as Jammu & Kashmir Migrant Seats.
  5. For NRI Candidates, there is a reservation of 5% in the sanctioned intakes of all engineering institutes in the state- These seats are within SI and are categorized as Ward of NRI Seats.
  6. Some of the seats are categorized as Institute Level Seats- In all the unaided institutions, there is a maximum of 20% seats which are available for admission on Institutional Level. 
  7. There is a provision that minimum 51% of seats of SI shall be reserved for admission to Minority community/group candidates in unaided minority institutions. They are grouped under Minority seats.

Allocation of seats within Sanctioned Intake for first year of Computer Application:

CAP Eligibility

Eligibility for MAH MCA CET 2023 CAP

Only eligible candidates can participate in MAH MCA CET 2023 CAP. Those who are applying as Maharashtra State Candidates should fulfill the following eligibility criterion:

  • Candidate must be an Indian National and must have secured 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA in any Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration.
  • Must have appeared and qualified in MAH MCA CET 2023.

Candidates applying under OMS Category must meet the following criterion:

  • Candidate should be an Indian National and must have secured 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA in any Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration.

For Candidates applying under NRI/Foreign National/PIO/Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries quota, the eligibility criterion would be following

  • Candidate must have secured 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA in any Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration.
  • Qualified in MAH MCA CET 2023 OR any other equivalent entrance examination conducted for the academic year 2023-24

Candidates seeking admission against Minority or Institute level seats should fulfill the following eligibility criterion:

  • Candidate should be an Indian National and must have secured 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA in any Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration.
  • Appeared and qualified in MAH MCA CET 2023 OR any other CET which is conducted by an agency approved by Pravesh Niyantran Samiti located at Bandra (E), Mumbai-51 for the academic year 2023-22
Admission Confirmation

Confirmation of Admission

  • Allotment of eligible candidates for particular rounds will be displayed on the website.
  • Candidates are required to take a printout of the displayed allotment.
  • All the candidates should report to the allotted institute as per the schedule. They are required to produce all the requisite documents and submit the stipulated fee at the institute to confirm admission.
  • Institutes on their part will carry out regular “Online Update” to confirm the admission of candidates on their respective websites. Institutes can also print out the system generated a letter of confirmation.
  • Those seats for which candidates have not reported to respective institutes or have not confirmed the admission will be treated as vacant seats for subsequent rounds of CAP.
  • Candidates can view the status of reporting or their eligibility for the next rounds through login.

CAP Round 1

  • Those candidates who have obtained First choice allotment, shall not be considered eligible to appear for subsequent rounds of CAP and their names will be deleted from subsequent lists. They are advised to confirm their admission at their allotted institutes respectively.
  • Other candidates who have obtained an allotment other than their first option but are satisfied with the allotment of CAP round I and are not willing to participate in subsequent rounds can also confirm their admission at respective institutions. They will also be no longer eligible for subsequent rounds.
  • All the seats which are filled (candidates have confirmed admission) in CAP round 1 will no longer be available for subsequent rounds.

CAP Round 2

  • Those candidates who have obtained allotment for anyone of the first seven options, shall not be considered eligible to appear for subsequent rounds of CAP and their names will be deleted from subsequent lists. They should confirm their admission at their allotted institutes respectively.
  • Other candidates who have obtained an allotment other than their first Seven options but are satisfied with the allotment of CAP round 2 and are not willing to participate in subsequent rounds can also confirm their admission at respective institutions. They will also be no longer eligible for subsequent rounds.
  • All the seats which are filled (candidates have confirmed admission) in CAP round 2 will no longer be available for subsequent rounds.

CAP Round 3

  • Candidates who belong to the OMS category will not be eligible to take part in CAP Round 3.
  • Seats that have remained vacant after CAP round I & II and are within the control of competent authority will be available for Round III.
  • All the seats which fall under the category of OMS seats as well as those under Backward, PH, HU, OHU etc. will be a part of State level General seats.
  • Candidates will have to report in person at the designated Center of Counselling Round, along with requisite documents and the non-refundable stipulated fees (not applicable for SC/ST) in form of DD drawn on “The Director, Technical Education” payable at Mumbai.
  • The Center of Counselling Round will be updated on the DTE website.
  • All the eligible candidates will be offered admission to seats available in their respective categories.
  • In case of delay on the part of candidates in reporting for the counselling or payment of balance fees, they will lose any claim for both the allotted seat and fees paid.

CAP Round 4

Seats available for this round will be published on the official website of DTE Maharashtra. Candidates are allowed to fill in or edit the already filled online option form. Seats to be allotted during the course of this round will be subject to the following conditions-

  • Before this round, candidates can change their option either from Sliding or Floating to Freezing or vice-versa.
  • Those who have not been allotted any seat in any of the previous rounds or those who have taken and canceled their admission in the earlier rounds or rejected seat and those who are desirous of Floating and Sliding in this final round are eligible to participate in this round.
  • Those candidates who have opted for Floating and Sliding and also applying for this round can fill in the allotted institution in their choice list. Once the upward allotment is made then the earlier allotment will automatically get canceled.
  • Sliding and Floating options are not available for the seats allotted in this round.
  • Reporting and accepting the offered seat will be as per the allotment by the Candidate at Reporting Center.
Documents Required

Documents Required For Verification

All the eligible candidates should carry Original documents and attested Xerox copies during the confirmation of CAP Application form at the ARC. The original documents will be returned after verification while the Xerox copies would be submitted. The admit card for MAH MCA CET 2023 should be produced by the candidates for identity verification. The list of necessary documents is mentioned below:

  • Certificate of Indian Nationality in the name of the Candidate
  • Statement of marks of HSC and SSC
  • Statement of marks for the Bachelor’s Degree Examination (i.e. the qualifying Degree examination) in case the candidate has passed the bachelor’s degree examination
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • Caste/Tribe Validity Certificate
  • Domicile certificate of candidate’s father/mother (if applicable), clearly indicating the place of permanent residence of the candidate/father or mother or Husband
  • Domicile certificate of the candidate: In case of Type-A candidate In lieu of Domicile certificate candidates should produce Birth Certificate of candidate indicating place of birth in Maharashtra OR School Leaving Certificate indicating the place of birth of candidate is in Maharashtra
  • Certificates in Proforma A, B, C, D, E, F, and G.
  • Receipt of payment of processing fees
  • Hall Ticket for MAH MCA CET 2023 duly signed by the supervisor of the examination
  • Any other relevant document

The candidates are also required to carry to certificates (original and attested copies) at the time of admission at the allotted institutes. They are also indicated below:

NOTE: Those who don’t possess “Certificate of Indian Nationality”, can submit one of the following documents:

  • The School Leaving Certificate indicating the Nationality of the candidate as ‘Indian’.
  • Indian Passport in the name of the candidate, issued by appropriate authorities.
  • Birth Certificate of the Candidate indicating the place of birth in India.
Important Instructions

Important Instructions for Candidates Reporting at ARC

  1. Candidate can get a whole list of ARC (Admission Reporting Centre) from the official website.
  2. They must bring their Provisional Seat Allotment letter. It can also be downloaded from the website if they have an allotted seat.
  3. It is mandatory to bring seat acceptance fee of INR 5000/- (General Category, VJ/DT, NT, SBC/OBC Category). Reserved Category candidates have to bring INR 1000/-.
  4. The acceptance fee has to be paid through Demand Draft in favor of “Commissioner, State CET Cell, Maharashtra State, Mumbai” payable at “Mumbai”.
  5. Bring all the supportive documents for the purpose of verification.
  6. It must be noted that the allotted seat can be canceled at any time if the supportive documents are not relevant or produced by fraudulent means.
  7. The allocated seat can be rejected by remitting the seat acceptance fee from the Reporting Centre.
  8. All ARC will remain open on the holidays and Sundays.

Candidates have to visit the ARC’s for Documents Verification, Updates, and Confirmation of Application Form in person. The provisional and final merit lists will be published subsequently. All the candidates will be assigned separate merit numbers:

  • All the Maharashtra State candidates who have obtained positive marks in the MAH MCA CET will be assigned a First-Year State Level General Merit Number, Second Year State Level Merit General Number for eligible for second year MCA. They will be also allotted Home University area Merit Number, Category Merit No., etc.
  • Candidates who fall under the Outside Maharashtra State (OMS) category and have secured positive scores in MAH MCA CET.
  • Candidates who have applied under the ‘J&K Migrant’ category and have obtained a positive score in MAH MCA CET 2017 will be assigned State level J&K Merit Number.

Ques: How will I come to know about the start of the counselling process for MAH MCA CET 2023?

Ans: After the declaration of result a merit list will be prepared by the authorities for MAH MCA CET 2023. This merit list will have names of all the eligible candidates for counselling based on their scores or ranks. If your name is there in the merit list then you have to register yourself (online) for the counselling process. 

Ques: I am not from Maharashtra. Do I need to appear for some other counselling process or will it be same for me for MAH MCA CET 2023?

Ans: No. A single counselling process will be there and all the eligible candidates have to register for that counselling only. The following seats will be filled through CAP: Maharashtra State Candidature Seats, All India Candidature Seats, Minority Quota Seats, Supernumerary Seats for Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature

Ques: How many counselling rounds will be conducted for MAH MCA CET 2023?

Ans: There will be 3 rounds of CAP. In case of any increase in a number of seats or vacant seats CAP round 4 could be conducted by the authorities for MAH MCE CET 2023.

Ans: Yes, you have to register online for the counselling process of MAH MCA CET 2023.
