JKCET 2023 Counselling Highlights

JKCET 2023 counselling will be conducted in offline mode where candidates will have to report physically at the counselling Center.  

  • The counselling will be conducted in different phases on the basis of rank.
  • The dates will be allocated in increasing order of the rank.
  • JKCET counselling will be conducted online through video conferencing as physical appearance will be difficult due to the pandemic.
  • Candidates are supposed to upload all the documents online on the official website for verification.
  • The counselling for various B. Tech and B.E. courses will be conducted over several rounds and days. It shall be noted that no separate communication will be done for the counselling.

Documents Required

Step 1: Documents Required for Verification

The candidates need to produce the following documents in original at the time of counselling. The subject to availability of reserved seats is only if the candidate is able to produce an original category certificate for the category under which he/she has applied for.

 Other than that, the candidate needs to produce the following set of documents in original for securing the seat allocated to the candidate-

  • A certificate of permanent residence of J&K or Domicile Certificate
  • Marks certificate of the qualifying examination issued by the concerned Board indicating all the marks required for the eligibility in the examination
  • Matriculation or equivalent examination certificate indicating clearly the Date of Birth of the candidate
  • Category certificate (if required)

The J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examination (JKBOPEE) has released a notification stating that the candidates who were earlier notified as having a deficiency of documents or certificates required for admissions through JKCET 2023 has to be done before the last date.

Step 2: Choice Filling & Locking

  • After verification of documents candidates will have to fill the choice of colleges in the order of their preference.
  • Log in using their JKCET registration number for choice filling and locking.
  • Candidates can also check the colleges and course-wise seat matrix while filling their choices. 
  • JKCET Seat matrix which will be released by the authorities.
  • Changes will be not be accepted after the choices are locked by the candidates.

Step 3: Seat Allotment

  • After the completion of choice filling, the mock seat allotment result will be released.
  • With the help of mock seat allotment results, candidates will get an idea about the chances of their admission based on the choices filled by them 
  • The authority will also provide the chance to change the preference of courses and colleges after the release JKCET mock seat allotment result. 
  • After that, the final JKCET seat allotment result will be announced. 
  • Candidates are advised to download their JKCET seat allotment letters.

Step 4: Reporting at Allotted Institutes

  • Selected candidates will have to report to their respective allotted institutes. 
  • Produce the required documents along with the allotment letter.
  • Admission Fee also has to be paid by the candidates.

JKCET 2023 is conducted every year for admission to engineering programs of various colleges in the union territories of the Jammu, Kashmir, and Leh regions. It aims at providing admission to the students who have a domicile in this region and various government colleges participate under JKBOPEE to allow admission under this entrance examination.   • The candidate needs to make sure to fill in the preference of discipline and institution in the counselling form. It is very important to mention the priority of the institution and the discipline in which the candidate is interested to take admission. It is according to this detail that they will be allocated the seats.
  • The allocation of seats is based on the preference and the availability of seats in the desired college and the preferred discipline. In case, the first preference gets filled up, the candidate will be allocated the seat for the second priority that they have mentioned.

JKCET 2023 Reservation Criteria

Reservation of seats is given to candidates who have a valid proof of their reservation based on different categories. These categories have to be mentioned in the form while applying and only then the candidate will be allocated the reserved seat. Apart from mentioning in the application form, the candidate must be able to produce valid proof of the reservation category mentioned by the candidate at the time of counselling. Failing this, the candidate may not be able to get the allotted seat.

JKCET 2023 Merit List

  • JKCET 2023 provisional merit list has been published on the official website of JKBOPEE. The candidates who applied for the exam can log in to the official website.
  • Candidates who have any objections to the merit list can submit their objections at the email id or at the Board office. The email id for the submission of any objections is- bopeehelpdesk@gmail.com 
  • Admission to these courses is subject to the qualifying benchmark that is fixed by the board. The allotment of seats is made on the basis of first cum preference and the reservation rules specified by the JKBOPEE.
  • The candidates can refer to the merit list and look for the counselling schedule to ascertain a seat in different participating colleges. Candidates who fail to make it to round 1 of the JKCET 2023 counselling schedule should wait to apply for the round 2 counselling. Counselling is scheduled in various rounds taking into consideration the number of candidates who have applied, the number of seats in various colleges and the streams that the candidate has applied for.

JKCET 2023 Seat Allotment

After completion of the first round of JKCET 2023 counselling, the seat allotment result will be published at www.jkbopee.gov.in. In case, any candidate is not satisfied with the result then they may apply for the subsequent round of counselling. JKCET seat allotment 2023 will be done based on merit-cum-preference and candidates have to join the college within the prescribed period by submitting original educational & academic documents, category certificates, etc.
