IMU CET 2023 Exam Pattern, Syllabus, Marking Scheme, Books

IMU CET 2023 Exam Pattern will be set and released by Indian Maritime University. A candidate who wishes to apply for UG or undergraduate, PG or postgraduate, Diploma courses and PhD programme at IMU must know IMU CET 2023 Exam Pattern. As per the exam pattern, IMU CET 2023 consists of 6 sections with 200 MCQ type Questions of 200 marks in total. 

  • There will be 120 objective types of questions for 120 marks in the examination for only PG programmes in Management or MBA
  • The subject Physics and Mathematics contains 50 questions in each whereas Chemistry, English, General Knowledge Aptitude comprises 25 questions in each. Check IMU CET Syllabus
  • The candidate needs to answer all the questions within 3 hours or 180 minutes.
  • Each question will contain 4 options. One marks will be given for each correct answer and there will not be any negative marking for any incorrect answer in the examination for all the level of courses. Check IMU CET 2023 Marking Scheme
  • IMU CET 2023  will be conducted in English.

IMU CET 2023 Exam Pattern

  • Mode:  IMU CET 2023 will be held in online mode only or Computer Based Mode. Candidates should note that there is no option to give an offline test. Candidates will have to mark answers on the computer screen.
  • Exam Duration: The time allotted for the test is 3 hours. The exam will be held in a single slot between 11 am and 2 pm
  • Sections: The following is the IMU CET 2023 Exam Pattern for Common Online CET for all UG Courses except BBA (Logistics, Retailing and E-Commerce):

Types of Questions in IMU CET

  • Questions in the test will be Objective type Multiple Choice questions.
  • For every question, four options will be given out of which only one option will be correct.

There will be maximum 200 Marks allotted for the test and each correct answer be awarded 1 mark. There is no negative marking applicable for the test.

IMU CET 2023 Syllabus

  • The syllabus of IMU CET 2023 exam would be similar to the Class XI and Class XII prescribed syllabus of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, GK, English, and aptitude of CBSE/ISE/State Boards.
  • Candidates can refer to the books that are prescribed for their Class XI and XII syllabus or can take reference from the books for other national level entrance examinations like JEE Main, JEE Advanced and BITSAT etc. List of some books is also tabled below for your reference.

Important Instructions for Candidates

It is important to keep certain instructions in mind while appearing for an online test. Candidates can follow the following instructions in the online IMU CET 2023 Exam:

Login

  • On the allotted computer, the candidate’s details (Name, photograph etc.) will be displayed on the screen.
  • At the scheduled time (usually 10 minutes before the exam), candidates have to enter ‘Username’ as instructed in Admit Card.
  • After entering Username and Password click on “Sign In” button.

Reading Instructions

  • Read instructions carefully as they will provide the entire exam related information.
  • Click on “I am ready to begin” button. The test will start at scheduled time only
  • Timer count starts post clicking the button “I am ready to begin”.

Test Taking Process

  • Candidates can click on the question number in the Question Palette at the right of the screen to go to that numbered question directly.
  • You have to select any answer out of the four options, by clicking on the circle button in front of the option.
  • To change the already chosen answer, circle button of another option can be clicked. In order to cancel the answer, click on Clear response button.
  • To save your answer, it is necessary to click on the Save & Next button, otherwise it will not be saved.
  • In order to mark the question for review, click on the Mark for Review & Next button. If a question is answered and Marked for Review, that answer will be considered in the evaluation.
  • Submit button will not be available till the completion of the exam time. System will automatically submit the test after Exam Closure time.
  • Exam summary will be displayed on the screen with Subject Name, Number of questions answered, not Answered, marked for review, and not visited.
  • Please confirm by clicking ‘Yes’ button

Timer

  • The countdown timer will start ticking down after you click the button “I am ready to begin”.
  • Candidates can refer to the timer to check the time left in completion of the test.
