Ques. How is the scenario for a fresher in PGDISEM, NITIE?

● Top Answer By Shreya Palit on 16 Aug 21

Ans. One of my cousins is a recent graduate of NITIE Mumbai, from the PGDISEM, and through him I got to know a little bit about the program. The fact that you are a fresher will not matter much since the batch size is usually very small.  The major upside of the small batch size is that even top consulting firms, including KPMG, PWC, and others, choose recruiting freshers. The batch my cousin was in, had a majority of the freshers, including him. Having said that, the freshers of his batch were recruited in companies such as Pepsico, Ultratech, Siemens, Asian Paint, PWC, BASF, Tata Steel. My cousin also secured placement in Aditya Birla Retail. Read more

Ques. I got admission in nicmar pune in ACM but many present students from nicmar are advising not to join due to less placements is it true?

● Top Answer By Bhavik Garg on 07 Oct 21

Ans. If you have joined Pune Campus, sit and relax. NICMAR is one of the reputed institutes for Construction Management. You will enjoy an unparalleled level of respect whenever you apply to companies like KPMG, L&T, Shapoorji Pallonji.  However, the university will not provide you with everything. You have to work hard to grasp such reputation and job profiles. If you are scoring only 60% in your PG degree and expecting to secure a job offer on the very 1st day, then you are wrong. The placement process is very rigorous and you might have to go through at least six stages to secure a job offer. Your profile, personality, caliber, capability, and hard work determine the job role you will get. ACM has a huge strength of 800+ students and if you don't work hard then the recruiters would not have reasons to select you. Read more

Ques. After doing a BE in civil engineering, is it worth doing construction management from NICMAR Pune?

● Top Answer By Niladri Ghose on 31 May 23

Ans. Post Graduate Program in Advanced Construction Management is a course specifically designed for civil engineers and architects. Both technical studies and management studies are combined to create this course. This is the finest course to take if you want to study construction management. The course's scope is wider, which means you can pursue numerous career profiles such as site execution and control, planning, health, safety, and the environment, valuation and estimating, and so on.  The course is multi-disciplinary combining aspects of civil engineering, general management, and construction project management.  The duration of the course is 21 months, having 7 trimesters of 3 months each. The 4th trimester is kept for summer internship and exams are held every 3 months.  The eligibility for the course is having a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture with a minimum of 50% degree.  The admission consists of 4 steps: NICMAR Common Admission Test: 150 marks GD: 20 marks Personal Interview: 30 marks Rating of Application: 50 marks There is an admission for sponsored category too. First, you need to go through the admission test and pay 50% fees higher than the tuition fees. However, sponsored students are not provided with any placement assistance. The institute assures 100% placement assistance but the compensation depends on your performance. Overall the course is good but still, I would suggest you first go for 2 years experience in the field and then go for the course. Read more

Ques. What is the salary package after doing ACM from NICMAR Pune having 5 years of experience in the construction field?

● Top Answer By Anamika Jindal on 17 Sept 21

Ans. One of my friends had recently joined NICMAR and here are some things he suggested that might help you with your question.  It would be highly recommended to take the Distance Course if the aspiring candidate is very serious about pursuing this course. The degree is not much worth the cost that one is paying.  Most of the prior experienced candidates got job offers with lesser salaries than they were getting before. The average CTC offered is around INR 6 LPA wherein you do not have much choice with the company that you can get placed anywhere else. Thus, it is important to take suggestions from students who have recently passed out or are currently graduating and then make the decision.Read more
