The university provides various extracurricular activities and events. There are many sports events and national events. Athletic meets and sports events are conducted 2 times a year. Different sports events are done during these meets like cricket, football, volleyball, races, basketball, tennis, kabaddi, etc. Orientation and fresher party is conducted for 1st year students. Various societies related to the extra curriculum are there run by students like College societies, Chetna, SPIC MACAY, E-cell, Placement cell, etc. The university has a campus library for students. It is one of the largest agriculture libraries in Asia. Classrooms have adequate seating space with smart boards installed for digital education. There are auditoriums, workshops and practical classes for different courses. The campus is quite spacious and easy to remember with proper roads and infrastructure.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose B. Tech degree programme because GBPUAT is one of the best technical Universities in Uttrakhand. It offers placements and ample opportunities for growth of students. There are over 30 Professors in the College of Technology with students above 400. Almost every professor has PhD qualification and teaching experience of 10+ years. Professors are competent in their field of work and have exquisite knowledge about the subjects. There are 3 exams in a semester. 2 are pre finals 15 marks each with 20 marks related to assignments and practicals and one final exam of 50 marks at the end of semester. While the B.Tech courses may be difficult but with the help of studying students can score good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good and the faculty members are also great. The faculty-student ratio is around 1:4. All faculty members are minimum Ph.D. scholars and above-term exams are monthly and are easy to pass. And end term is semester-wise once in 6 months.

Placement Experience:

Placement is also good. Most of the students get placed. Last year about 80% of students were placed in some pursuit of higher studies. Some go for business/ startup. The highest package was around 48 lpa for the PIE branch and the average was 8.7 lpa.

Course Curriculum Overview:

According to rank in jee advanced this course suits me best along with IIT ROORKEE. It is a specific course in mechanical engineering. The faculty-student ratio varies according to the courses in the particular year. All the professors have PhD degrees in their field of specialization moreover they teach according to the student's preference. Sometimes on the projector and sometimes on board. In a semester two exams are conducted and they are not that much easier to pass but also not much hard.

Campus Life:

The annual fest's name is Thomso it is a cultural fest to be held in the month of October and the tech fest's name is Cognizance Help in the month of March. There are many clubs on campus varying in the field of interest according to students and they are managed by the student body. Many sports centres include grounds and special equipment for each sport.

The fee for one semester is about 80k. But there are many options for fee waiver If you are from the sc/st category or your family income is less than 1 lac per annum then you have to pay zero institute fees and if your family income is less than 5 lac then you have to pay 1/3 of institute fee. There are many companies which directly hire students for on-campus placement.

Course curriculum belongs in hard to difficult range. Faculty members in my college are extremely qualified and are like an ocean of knowledge but they somewhat lack teaching methodology. They have very deep knowledge of their subjects but they don't have that edge on teaching skills. Course Curriculum Overview:

My home is close to this college and also its name is also famous which led me to choose this college and I was getting only this particular branch so I took this course. in our branch, 60 students are handled by at least 3 faculty members. All the professors are PHD scholars, and some of them are also from well-known institutes such as IITs. The exams are very close every month you either have quizzes or semester exams as the semester is only for 4 months, In order to make the exam easier they have quizzes for 10 marks which can be scored easily sometimes. But due to the quizzes, students don't get free time to do other things.

Campus Life:

Life is good, you are confined to the walls of campus as there is nothing outside it is very far away from the main city so you have to think many times before doing anything. There is a library which contains many books but there were some times I wasn't able to find some famous books so I can't tell you for sure. The classroom is provided with air conditioners obviously and they also have a projector for visual aid. Sports here are good as they do promote sports activities they give ground to organize inter-club/inter-hostel tournaments and have no financial support to a sports club.

Ques. What is the prospect of production engineering in NIT Trichy?

● Top Answer By Himani Bose on 23 Mar 21

Ans. Many people think that production engineering is mechanical minus thermodynamics. Which is not true. Production engineering is completely different from mechanical as the subjects are different. My friend is currently in the 4th year of production engineering, NIT Trichy and according to him, it doesn’t really have a good prospect. Here’s why: While other departments have 6 subjects per semester you’ll be having 7. This can get quite hectic for you at times. Despite so much hard work, placements are not good at all. You will never be treated equally to your mechanical friends, however good your profile is. Although you can go into most of the mechanical engineering fields like automobiles, industrial tools making, etc. you will be paid lesser than your mechanical engineer mates. However, if you are planning for higher studies and research, then production is a very good choice. Being a production engineer opens up the manufacturing, industrial, and mechanical higher study options too. So, if placement after B.Tech. is your focus, please look elsewhere but if you are into higher studies then surely go for it. Choose wisely.Read more

Ques. How is safety and fire engineering in CUSAT and what is the average package for this branch?

● Top Answer By Sadia Jahan on 28 Jul 21

Ans. The Fire and Safety Engineering Department is one of the best at CUSAT. As one of my friends studied there, I might be able to share some details which can help you with your question. This department has got good infrastructure along with good faculties. About 90% of the students of this branch get a good offer for a package. But this field is limited to getting a job, as most of the companies recruiting on-campus look for other colleges. The competition will be less as very few colleges offer this kind of branch. CUSAT is the best fire and safety branch in India. Categories B.Tech in Safety and Fire Engineering at CUSAT No. of seats 60 Placement Percentage 90-100% Highest CTC 22 LPA Average CTC 6-7 LPA Course Fee 3.01 lakh Recruiting Companies DRDO, ISRO, ONGC, GAIL, ABS, Reliance, British Safety Council, IOCL, BPCL, etc. You will get placement with the package of INR 8-10 LPA initially for PSU in the sector of Oil. The placements are mostly in the field of public sector units like IOCL, GAIL, and ONGC.Read more

Ques. Which is better- IEM in Ms. Ramaiah or EEE in Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering?

● Top Answer By Sushmita Raj on 17 Sept 21

Ans. After doing some research online, I would suggest not to go for IEM at Ramaiah, until and unless you are extremely interested in studying that particular subject. Since it will not pay you anything and you will eventually wind up in the same category of mass placement at one of the service-based companies.  Double-check the topics you will be studying. EEE is usually less exposed than IEM, yet EEE is regarded as the most complex branch to be studied.  The majority of EEE / ECE / other branches receive job offers from Infosys, HCL, Accenture, or Tech Mahindra. Parameters IEM at Ms. Ramaiah EEE at Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering Tuition Fees INR 3.47 lakh  INR 10 lakh Placement Percentage 95% 70% Highest Package 13 LPA 15 LPA Average Package 7.6 LPA INR 8 LPA So, what is the point of learning core Electronics if all you have to do at the conclusion of your engineering degree is code? If you want to build a career, think seriously about the branch you select. Regardless of the institution you attend, I believe EEE is far superior to IEM. Pursue EEE only if you are truly passionate about the subject.Read more

Ques. How is production engineering at nit calicut?

● Top Answer By Shaurya Singh on 25 Mar 21

Ans. You must know what you are getting yourself into. The mechanical engineering department of NITC offers 2 BTech courses that are Mechanical and Production. Both of these departments share faculties, labs, some courses, and other facilities. But at the end of the day, both are different courses. There are two types of people seen in Production Engineering at NITC: Students who wanted to study mechanical, but didn’t have the rank for it or could only get mechanical at other NITs. Production is after all similar to mechanical. Students who didn’t have an appropriate rank to choose a branch/college of their choice, but still wanted to study in an NIT. There are few things that students commonly felt during their days: Students are often seen saying that they should get mechanical equivalent certificates. There is no purpose in saying this as they are two different branches. Students also complain that teachers are biased. Few teachers refrain from teaching students from production batches. Mechanical batches are taught mostly by permanent faculty while production batches get guest faculties. There are very few placement opportunities for Production batches in comparison with Mechanical. Core companies are even fewer. The students of Production are often isolated from other batches of students. They are allotted spare rooms. Categories Production Engineering at NIT Calicut Course Fee 5.42 lakh Placement Percentage 70-80% Highest CTC 8 LPA Average CTC 6 LPA Recruiting Companies Tata, Bajaj, HPCL, BPCL, TCS, Texas Instruments, etc. The placement options are not as rare as students may make out, but it may not be in the field that they are looking for. So in the end one can say that, if the student truly wants to be a mechanical engineer, then this college probably isn’t for you. If they just want the NIT experience, then they should know what options they will have after college.Read more

Ques. Which would be better to take from NIT Trichy: instrumentation and control or production?

● Top Answer By Anirban Biswas on 04 Sept 21

Ans. I know a little bit about ISI Kolkata since I have a few friends from the institute. Here is what you should know about the internships between semesters.  The course curriculum specifies that in the summer after completing your first year of M.Tech, you have to do an internship either in the industry or academia. You will have 3 options.  Industry: Many companies that visit the Campus for placements of 2nd-year students also select interns for the same. Some of such companies are Samsung Research Labs, Google, General Electric, Reliance, Flipkart, De Shaw, JP Morgan Chase, etc. The average stipend offered last year was 65,000 rupees/month. Some companies offer more than 1 lakh/month. One of my friends interned at Samsung Research Labs. Academia: As per ISI guidelines, you need to pursue an internship at a different academic Institute or industry. A friend of mine went to NUS Singapore, while two others went to a university in Germany. You can also apply to other institutes in Japan, USA, and Europe. People also go to IITs, CMI, and other Tier-1 Institutes of India. Within ISI: If for some reason you could not get an internship in the above-mentioned ways, you can approach any of the 250+ faculty members across all 5 ISI‘s and can ask to work with them in their labs. You will have internships at the end of the first year. In the second year, you will have placements, dissertation, academics. So, the only time left to do an additional internship is the winter break after the first sem. Unless you are extremely enthusiastic, I will suggest that you take a break during this period. Because after the break you will be swamped with coursework for 1.5 years.Read more

Ques. Which branch should I opt from the CUSAT, mechanical engineering or safety and fire engineering?

● Top Answer By Praduman Singh on 20 Jul 21

Ans. It depends where your interest lies. But if you think according to the placement opportunities, safety, and fire engineering is much more preferred due to the high demand in the industry. The faculty is also well-qualified along with the quality education that the college provides. But safety and fire engineering deal with a lot of safety responsibilities so, if you are opting for this branch be prepared for that. However, if you don’t want to be confined in one specific area then go for Mechanical. As it is a core branch, you can get many specializations later. So, choose a branch according to your interest.Read more

Ques. Should I choose BIT Mesra or NIT Agartala for production engineering?

● Top Answer By Vineet Kumar on 20 Apr 21

Ans. BIT Mesra is hands down a better choice over NIT Agartala. A few of my friends have studied at both BIT Mesra and NIT Agartala. Following points are based on their respective experience: BIT has an amazing infrastructure, facilities, brand value, and student culture. Hostels are well maintained and are connected with High-speed internet facilities. The campus has a student-friendly ambiance and the weather at Ranchi is top-notch. The curriculum is well balanced and up-to-date with today's technological trends. Apart from studies, the institute even focuses on various personality development and career counseling programs. Many core companies visit the campus frequently and IT companies are always there for backup in the worst-case scenario so that you will not remain unplaced.  The only factor in which NIT Agartala seems better is in terms of tuition fees. BIT Mesra has twice the fee of NIT Agartala but it is justified for the quality of education, infrastructure, and facilities they provide. Quick comparison: Particulars BIT Mesra NIT Agartala Total seats offered(CSE) 33 56 Entrance exam BITSAT JEE mains Cutoff 29665-35847 200254-251247 Tuition fee 1,46,500 77,700 Placement rate 82% 75% Highest CTC offered 28 LPA 17LPA If you are truly interested in production engineering, it's better to opt BIT Mesra rather than NIT Agartala as BIT leads in every single aspect over NITA.Read more

● Top Answer By Arindam Chakraborty on 29 Apr 21

Ans. One of my friends was a former student of this institute, and he was 2015 pass out batch. As per his advice, you would definitely face a difficult time getting success and fulfilling your dream if you opt for Production Engineering.  However, a small number of students get jobs in the core sector after studying this engineering stream. If you are satisfied with the jobs in IT companies, like Infosys, TCS and so on, you can go for this subject. In the following, a brief overview has been given about the placement facts of this institute. Criteria Production and Industrial Engineering, NIT Jamshedpur Highest CTC 10 LPA Average CTC 4 LPA Lowest CTC 2 LPA Placement Statistics 81 % Companies Came 80+ Number of Total students appeared in Placement 500 However, my friend has studied Metallurgical Engineering in this institute, but a maximum number of his friends was from Production Engineering Stream.
